Any 2013 Brides Out There?!!!!

Hey I am just curious...you previously had your wedding date for May and changed it to January. Any particular reason why. We are also planning for mid May but I hear thats typically a rainy month and I am sooo afraid of that. Thoughts?

Nicole did you decide to do the site visits next month? We have just finished finalising our airfare and accomodations for our site visits next month. We are visiting Paradisus Punta Cana, Barcelo Bavaro, Barcelo Punta Cana, Melia Caribe and Ocean Blue and Sand. I am hoping to cut down this list by atleast one resort in consideration of time. Where were you planning on visiting and have you touched base with the WC? I guess its not standard to be able to try the food on a site visit huh? Can anyone add some input on this...is there a seperate cost to taste the food when your doing a site visit. Food is super important and could potentially be a deal breaker for us.

 

Ugh I am just so anxious to lock down a venue so I can send out the STD's!!

I'm April 2013. We haven't decided on a place but know it will be in Punta Cana. I am going to some bridal shows that have destinatiom wedding sections to get some ideas.

I'm planning my wedding for January 19th 2013 in Punta Cana. My FI and i are heading to PC in 2 weeks and i can't wait to take a decision for my wedding venue. I really want a Catholic ceremony at a Gazebo and something very affordable for my guest. My TA recommended us to visit Majestic Elegance, Dreams Palm Beach, Iberostar Bavaro suites and Grand Palladium Palace. I'm also doing my engagement pictures session over there with HDC.

I'm super excited and anxious!

I am a 2013 bride! It took me forever to find a thread like this. We are planning a wedding in April 2013 in the DR. Is there any advice between the Majestic Elegance and the Grand Palladium. I heard that the Majestic Elegance was to expensive for what they offer and that the Grand Palladium gives you a base price but then there are alot of "extras" that end up costing you way more.

We views the Majestic Elegance when were in the DR over Christmas 2011 and fell in love. It is a bit pricier than the Grand Palladium.

Any advice would be awesome!!

Are you home? What did you decide? I really loved the Majestic Elegance when I viewed over Christmas 2011. My other choice was the Grand Palladium but we didn't have time to view the resort.

If you were picking between the two which would you pick? We also viewed the Iberostar Bavaro but once we were then and seen the Iberostar Grand I wanted that one lol! Way out of our price range but absolutely beautiful!

I am also a 2013 bride going to the DR. Majestic Elegance is on the top of my list, but I haven't heard much about it on here. As for Grand Palladium, I stayed there this past June (it is where I got engaged.. :-) ), I will not be having my wedding there because I was not a big fan of the place. I did get sick, as did 9 people of the 10 people we had with us. I hated the food there, all of it. My room was a nightmare. And after 11, not much went on. While the pool was nice, the beach was the best part of PC and why I am chosing to go back and get married in the DR, just a different resort. My personal opinion on the Grand Palladium is just mine though, I don't think the resort was that great, but I did have problems with the food and my room. Others might not have! That is what conclusion I am deciding because there are good and bad at every resort...LOL.
