All-Inclusive Resorts for Same Sex Wedding / Commitment Ceremony?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I am at a bit of a loss trying to find information on which resorts in Cancun / Riviera Maya / Playa del Carmen are gay-friendly and have been host to same sex weddings or commitment ceremonies. My partner and I are searching for an all-inclusive resort for a same sex commitment ceremony with around 90 guests, the vast majority of whom would be straight couples. We are not looking for a "gay" resort, just one where we would feel comfortable having our wedding and our guests would also have a great time. Any suggestions as to what resorts we should look at and/or where to find information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!

HI there,

My partner and I are in the same boat and seeking the same info so if you find anything please let me know. We too are seeking a Mexico all-inclusive destination wedding where they do all the planning and work for us :-) Our guests will be about half yours but will also be all straight couples for the most part. Any advice, sites or info you've discovered that could help would be sooooo appreciated :-)

GOOD LUCK and congrats! Please pass along any info.

OOO, I just saw a GORGEOUS wedding, but it's on the west side of Mexico.  I have seen same sex weddings a lot more frequently in the Puerto Vallarta, Cabo area than I have in the Riviera Maya.

If I'm not mistaken, Playa Fiesta in Puerto Vallarta is where I have seen some of my recent favorites come from.  I'm not sure if it's all inclusive though, but it sure is gorgeous!

That puts three of us in the same boat (er, six of us, partners included).  I'm looking for all-inclusive resort, as well, and not interested in "gay resorts," as nearly all our guests will be straight couples.

I made the mistaken of getting a bit too attached to Dreams Tulum before finding out they do not do same-sex ceremonies.  They suggested Secrets Capri in Cancun, so you might check that out.

For me, it's unlikely, because I can't get past the idea of Cancun being a place full of drunken spring break kids.  Surely, it's not that way the rest of the year, but that is where my brain goes when I hear the word Cancun, and it bothers me to think of guests feeling the same way when they receive their invitations.  (I suppose those getting married in Vegas face the same issue.)  Silly, maybe, but I'm not sure I can get past it.

Still searching for the perfect place.

Hi To All,

We just photographed a fantastic same sex wedding at Playacar Palace and Adventure Spa Palace, The ceremony was at Adventure Spa because it is the Adult only resort in the Palace chain that would allow the client to have the ceremony. The group stayed at the Playacar Palace because the Adventure does not have a beach but a quick shuttle made it all easy. We would be happy to help you in search of a gay friendly hotel, Send us an email to see what we can do for you. [email protected]
