+1... I let my ring soak for about 15 minuites in a 50/50 mix and I also add a drop of liquid dish detergent and scrub with a soft bristle toothbrush.  I also have an ultrasonic cleaner and a steamer with an attachement head that is perfect for smaller items (purchased for all my jewelry prior to engagement). We purchased my ring online, so I don't have any free cleaning services. But cleaning my jewelry was already a habitat. But I will take my ring into a jeweler to get polished before my wedding.

I was given a good tip by a jewler- my engagement ring is white gold and he suggested having it "dipped" right before the wedding so that my band and engagement ring will be on the same "dipping schedule" and so my engagement ring dooesnt look more yellow next to the brand new band1
