hi luvmoo!

can you tell me if you checked with the iberostar rosehall beach WC about these?  i sent her a note today to confirm if this was possible as i didn't want to purchase w/o having the 'official' approval...if you've already gotten it..that would help me out.

please let me know.

THANKS!!

We are having our dance and such on the beach after dinner as we are doing the bonfire on the beack package at our resort...... so when it is dark out, we will all light the lanterns and then once they are released that is when we are going to do our first dance and the Father Daughter dance etc.. we figure that would make for some amazing pictures! :)

Now that we are doing the bonfire, and dance etc.. on the beach, we will release them, and as they are floating, we will do our first dance :)

I did!! i actually checked several months ago.. on the telephone.. with the supervisor ( before they had the new WC.. it was the supervisor who i spoke with on the phone who confirmed it would be fine to release them) and then just a few weeks ago.. i confirmed via email ( i wanted it in writing) that it would be fine to release sky lanterns.  and this was for the beach!

I'd be interested in going in on bulk lanterns but my wedding isn't until next July and I'm not sure how many I will need yet.

Luvmoo - I LOVE the idea of your first dance as the lanterns are floating away!  That will make for an awesome picture!  I might have to borrow that idea!

Borrow away Darlin!! That's why i shared it!!! i think it is a great idea and will be a beautiful photo op!! and will add to the already beautiful moment... Lord knows i have borrowed enough ideas off of all you  wonderful ladies!! i am just payin it forward!! ahahahah

on a second note..  i was looking at my reciept from my lanterns i bought a long time ago.. from weddinglantern.com  and i thought i would let you all know... that i bought 45 lanterns.. on my own not in bulk... and it cost me 106.00 Canadian Including delivery.... so they are very resonable and i love them!!!! just food for though as when i was doing my research i checkled several websites for lanterns and for Canadian brides anyway... this was the cheapest i found includng shipping...

and they claim on thier website that they are 100% biodegradable... so just something for you to look into should you be inclined :)

Hey everyone, a couple people have asked so just to confirm:

I got my lanterns at www.theskylantern.com

They shipped in a box of 36 from Michigan, for $99 plus shipping $31 via Fedex (I had these rushed as they were a last minute decision!).

Some people have asked "how big are they?!". In the box, they were flat and individually wrapped, so super easy to get to our destination. When they were unwrapped, they were MUCH bigger than I expected....THIS WAS A GOOD THING. In order for them to make an impact, they need to be BIG! There is a video right on the home page of the website I ordered from that shows a "how-to" and you'll see how big they are when out of the package and fluffed up.

They look AMAZING when lit up in the sky. Above everything else at our wedding (except me crying as I walked down the aisle towards my now husband, and making all 37 of our guests cry, too!) this is what everyone has been talking about from our wedding. My photographer showed me pictures right off of her camera the next day at our day-after shoot, and I CANNOT wait to show you. If you can do one thing at your wedding that is a bit above and beyond, this should be it!!!

Natalie
