Does Excellence Punta Cana Require You to Arrive 3 days before Your Wedding

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

First off these forums have been extremely helpful with our wedding planning! We've been looking into the possibility of an Excellence Punta Cana wedding and realized that their FAQ requires that the bride and groom be there 3 days before the wedding. I also noticed that Dreams in DR has the same requirements. I was pretty sure that DR only requires you to be there 24 hours before your wedding. We want to get legally married in DR, possibly in June 2012 but we don't want to be there 3 days in advance. Are these hard rules set by the resorts or are they just suggestions for the resorts to cover themselves? Is there a good reason to be there 3 days in advance? Does anyone have any success or horror stories with showing up 24 hours before?

Thanks in advance for any help with this!

I believe it is a Legal thing and all Resorts will make you get there at least three days before...I personally would be there atleast that early any way just to make sure I know the resort well enough to be helpful to my guest and make sure I have plenty of time to smooth out all the details and get things right with the wedding coordinator!
