Thanks Jill,

Where in Mass do you live? I'm down on Cape Cod right over the bridge in Falmouth.

I love looking for reveiws etc so if you need any help or are having trouble finding something feel free to let me know and I'll give it a shot. :) It gives me an exscuse to stop cleanning or studying. lol.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner - we were in Disneyland for the weekend!

20 minutes sounds about right to downtown. We only went downtown a couple of times (once for a tour starting location, once just to go downtown to check it out), so it didn't really matter too much to us, but it is definitely more limiting on the nightlife than someplace downtown would be.

They do have a shuttle that goes downtown, but times are limited, and you have to get in line 30+ minutes before the shuttle time to get a spot. We just took a cab.

Hope that helps!

I like this pic better. You can see the chapel on the left side of the picture, so this kinda shows you what would be in background of your wedding at Moon Palace.

I think there are two wedding gazebos in addition to the Catholic chapel. Both are located similarly, so they would provide basically the same surroundings.

Hope that helps!

Carol

bump.gif sorry, new to the site and still tring to figure it out. MP is the place I'm considering the most (AI, allows kids, has excursions) and my dad said it was nice. Does anyone know how the receptions arehuh.gif My SO and I don't act our age and we still like to shake it on the dance floor. Is there a place to dance at MP?? Could we bring CDs with dance music on it for our reception?? Is there another AI, kid friendly resort with a contemporary style in Mexico I should look at? Any help would be appreciated.pw.jpg

In general most resorts will let you 1. hire a DJ or 2. bring in your own music or 3. bring your own music to the DJ or 4. a lot of places let you bring in your IPOD and hook it up to their speaker system which you would have to rent.

As far as night life at MP goes I am not sure, but from what I have gathered from most resorts reviews etc is that a lot of the time guests have complaints in regards to the nightlife. What I would do is try and find out how far away MP and any other resort that your looking into is away from the center of town like Cancun or the Playe Del Carmen etc. For example my resort the Occidental Grand Xcaret is a 10 minute cab ride away from town where there is much better night life, this way my guests have the option of going into town if the resorts nightlife is not up to their standards.

Carol, thanks so much for the pictures. I'm getting married there on March 3, 2007 and pictures really help!

Gunde: You can do a private reception in the ballroom, garden or terrace. Or if you don't want to do the private reception, you can always have dinner in one of the restaurants and then I hear that they have a disco that some people go to. I will be doing the private reception and hiring a dj (but bringing music just in case).
