When do you send out STDs?

i sent out an engagement announcement as soon as we got engaged..and then our STDs went out a year in advance...with it being a destination wedding, we opted to let the STD serve as an invite..with details and info on booking..vs. a formal invitation...

I would suggest you send out your save the dates a year ahead of time.  Make sure the wedding invitations match the save the dates.  I have seen the reception with similar themes.

I'm sending out my STD cards in September for our 9/9/2012 wedding.

WE sent ours about a year and three months in advance.... I think its all up to you and how much notice you want to give your guests! : )

I did not, I included a letter for why we chose a destination wedding and then included our TA information

The idea about the email is what I think I would like to do if I can't get my save the dates out in the next 5 days.

I didn't either. My RSVP is on my invites.

I did put our TAs info & our wedding website which has the rates, special dates & all other info on it.
