Hello Sapphire Brides! I am new to the forum, so any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated. I was wondering if anyone out there was having a rehearsal dinner/has had one and if so what information you could share. I was hoping to have something casual on the beach, like a buffet or appetizers. I have emailed Anel, but have yet to hear back. My wedding is booked for June 10.

Thanks!

Has anybody used an outside vendor for hair and makeup? Although I REALLY hate the idea of paying the $300 vendor fee I am kind of picky about hair and makeup and want to make sure that it looks perfect on my wedding day! My question is, do you have to pay the guest pass in addition to the outside vendor fee??

I would direct the email to Anel, but you know how loooooooooooooong the response time can be!! I am getting so frustrated with the lack of communication from them BangHead.gif

Also, from what I've seen/heard from other girls is to avoid the resort DJ at all costs, one girl said it was a waste of her time and money especially since she had to take over MCing the party and the resort DJ never played any of the songs she or her guests wanted. We're just going to rent the sound systems and play our own DJ to save a bit of money. Good luck to you!

We just got all our confirmation stuff last week and started looking at the menu choices ourselves. I think I remember one of the girls on here saying that they got a beef plate and fish plate and she said the fish was pretty salty. So I'm kinda wondering the same thing. Also does anyone know if the vegetarian option counts as a meal choice or we can just let the resort know that we need a few veg plates and still keep our two options?

I just emailed Ramon asking about dinner menu options. His reply was that we are to pick one set menu that all guests are to have. As for vegetarian options, i am a vegetarian and asked him to send me a vegetarian menu but his reply to that was the Chef will come up with a menu. i am going to be bugging him for a set menu since Im paying for the meals i feel like i should have a choice of what i will be eating.

I have the devine package and think im going serve the beef with asparagus and potatoes. Also if you are having any children the childrens menu is a choice of fruit cocktail, tomato soup, chicken fingers and spagghtti , cheese burger and fries with either ice cream or chocolate cake kids menus are $25 us plus tax if you are over your 25 guests ( i feel this is the biggest rip off)

Emily- I was entertaing the idea of a welcome dinner/rehearsal dinner but if you have more than 10 people in a reservation they charge you to have a "plated dinner menu" at $20/$25 a person. And heaven forbid you want to have a private area for any of it they charge $200. The only way to avoid having to pay out the nose for all that is to do it at the buffet. For us that is just what we're going to do. I'd rather save all that other money for fun excursions or spa trip. Anel is slow to respond but she always does. If you think about she has brides and weddings, checking in and organizing all of it everyday of the year. Ramon is also super helpful too. Whatever you choose I'm sure it will be beautiful. Congrats!!

I think I do remember from reading another BDW brides review of I think either NOW Sapphire or Jade....or maybe Dreams Tulum. I've read so many I can't remember. Anyways, I think she had to pay the fee but she said that it was well worth it. So if it's super important and your picky about it then do it.

I attended a Now Sapphire webinar in February that was coordinated through this forum, and Ramon said that you were allowed to provide guests with an entree option, but you had to have the final count in ahead of time.

That's the same package we have!! Just as a heads up I heard the fish option can be a bit on the salty side. And you should totally have the right to know what your eating if your the paying customer AND the bride. I hope to GOD we have no kids at our wedding. Don't get me wrong I love kids I just think they have a time and place. And one of those places is not at my wedding screaming and crying and hogging the dance floor. That is one of the main reasons we chose to do a DW. I think it would be a different story if we had kiddos or our immediate family but that is not the case. Do you know how much more they charge per person(adult) over the 25 people?
