I can't say that I was ever there in the evening. I see you are getting married in May. What time does the sun set? You might not need as much light as you think (in November the sun set at 4:30 and there was more than enough light provided to us (no cost) on the tequila terrace.

I looked up that the sun sets in may around 6:20. They wanted our wedding at 6, so we talked about moving it a little earlier. We were planning on doing all family and our first viewing before the wedding so we can head straight over to the cocktail reception but i was worried about the sunlight and want to get group photos as well so we may move the wedding earlier, only to do our first viewing shots and then ceremony and group and family and then cocktail reception starts while we finish up. I'm sure it'll all work out.

I'm not positive so you might want to check to be sure, but I was told by Ramon if I had my reception at the preferred pool I wouldn't be allowed to have a DJ at that location. Maybe just email your wedding coordinator to make sure they will allow that for you.

Thanks for the info,i emailed as soon as I read that earlier. I also asked my travel agent but she was surprised because she has a client having her reception there as well and is having a dj. I'll let you know what they say

Has anyone seen any reviews on the salon?  Or are there in past brides in here that can comment if they were pleased with their hair?

Pulled from my review on the Now Sapphire:

Spa:

I had my nails, hair, and makeup done by the ladies at the spa. I had Lecticia (I think!). She spoke very little English. I showed her a picture of what I wanted with my hair, and tried to communicate that I wanted it to have some volume on top. Although it wasn’t quite what the picture showed, my hair looked beautiful. It framed my face very well and I LOVED it. I wear very little makeup on a daily basis, so I was worried how it would turn out. At one point she put a little too much; I said something and she fixed it immediately. I thought it looked amazing. My mom said that it looked beautiful and I still looked like me, instead of looking overly made up. When I got back to the room I added a bit more eyeliner, and right before leaving the room a bit more mascara, but I felt gorgeous!

My three sisters and my mom also had their hair done. All three looked amazing, though not exact copies of the pictures they showed the stylist. All held up really well throughout the night too.

I would like to add that the ladies at the spa overall were very helpful. My sisters painted our nails while waiting for our hair, and when we asked for nail-polish remover it was provided no questions asked.

Howdy! I am getting married on January 10th so its right around the corner! I have been speaking a lot with Juan so I just wanted to post my two cents.

The 2015 price has changed. I went up a few hundred bucks. They are in the middle of letting all the brides know.

As for the florist, we originally booked an outside vendor, was going to go meet them outside of the resort and I was told "if you bring in any flowers, you will be charged a $300 vendor fee" so we are just going with the resorts to avoid the stress and arguments.

I read a question on the chair, we are upgrading to the silver tiffany chairs at $10 a piece, and brining sashes with us. Juan said they would move the chairs from the beach to the preferred pool with the sashes on it for $2/chair. Much better.

I was very worried about the pool area because there are not many pictures of this location. We are getting married at 4 pm on the beach, then having pictures until 6. (I assume because the pool isn't private until then). At 6 pm we are having our cocktail hour followed by the reception at the pool. WE HIRED A DJ, so whoever was told they couldn't at the pool, things must have changed because Juan is allowing us to.

As for lighting, we don't want to pay the $900 that it costs for the Chinese lanterns, and Italian lights are $450 (which we were going to go with ) until I read "$450/strand" so I am not sure how many strands are needed. Juan said they include 2 spotlights, and he will put a little extra light by our polaroid guest book. We are also bringing some candles for the tables so I think we will be ok!

Any questions, feel free to ask now that I have the prices and some of the info! I feel so much better!

@@DinaQtobe beautiful pics and congrats!!! I love your hair. Did you find that wearing it down made it frizzy through the night?

Thanks very much.  We just celebrated our 1 year anniversary :)

It was a little bit frizzy at the end of the night (I have somewhat frizzy hair to begin with) but it lasted throughout the day (spa appointments at 12).  The next day, after I managed to take out all of the bobby pins I couldn't get a comb through it (so much hair spray!!).  Thankfully the tangles came out in the shower with a LOT of conditioner :)

Thanks for the info. Would love to see and hear how everything went. We are having ours at the preferred pool so if you could send pictures that would be awesome! What time is your ceremony at? Good luck with everything and congrats!!
