Now Sapphire Weddings Formerly Paradisus Riviera

The response was a bit unclear.  The only thing I'm really certain of is that the extra hour rate is $99 US.  But I don't know if that bumps up the number of photos you get from the 24 in the package.

Thats a bit upsetting, but if they let you upgrade and pay only the $200 difference, then I don't think that's too bad. I was still expecting a little more. It makes sense now why you don't get that many pictures with the package - they're not there long enough to take more!

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the thread but happy to have found it! We have just really begun wedding planning and are planning on having our wedding at Now Sapphire also, in Aug 2012.

Jsal4 - Thanks so much for sharing your information. That's a great list of questions! Could you post some photos when you return and also see if there are some buildings/guest rooms we should ask to avoid? Some of the reviews online mentioned mildew, weird musty odors and since our guests are making a big effort to come celebrate with us, it would be nice to make sure they enjoyed their stay. Sorry if this has already been covered on one of the threads and I missed it. Thank you!

jsal4,

This is a great list of questions!  I can't wait to hear from you when you get back.  Are you going to be taking a lot of photos?

  • Any substitutions for wedding packages?
  • How many days in advanced should we arrive?
  • Welcome reception private vs non-private? Cost?
  • Cupcakes instead of wedding cake?
  • Floral arrangements - how many come in the package? If we bring our own, can you provide vases?
  • Fireworks?
  • Webcam?
  • What is the latest the wedding can go to?
  • Sweets table? Cost?
  • What type of alcohol served?
  • Can we have our own Officiant?
  • Spa prices
  • Can I bring my own color/personalized napkins?
  • How much per person over 25 people? What does that include?
  • Outside vendor fees (florist, photographers, etc.)
  • Preferred Club for Bride & Groom / Parents?
  • Is it better to get an additional 2hours of photography or upgrade the package? How much to upgrade for 3 hrs.

I just found out that my mom invited my hairstylist to my wedding to do my hair and she is coming!!!

That takes a lot of stress away that I had over my hair and makeup for my big day!  I was starting to have nightmares that it was going to be frizzy and blowing around in the wind.

Plus, she will be able to do my three bridesmaids hair and my mom.

So excited that I will be at NowSapphire this Friday! It will be nice to have a vacation and relax with the fiance and also be able to start planning this wedding. We got engaged in June and since then so many people have asked how the plans are going. We decided to enjoy the engagement and not start planning until we visit the resort. Can't believe its finally here.

@AmyG - Definitely takeing a lot of pictures. I will post a full review, with pictures and answers to all the questions. cheesy.gif

@Moderncosmo1 - So great that our wedding are around the same time. We will have to grab a drink either before or after our weddings.

Those are great questions jsal4, thanks for sharing!  I hope you have a great time this weekend.  I can't wait to hear how it goes for you.  Most importantly, enjoy your vacation;)

Just a FYI, I got some answers back from Anel a couple weeks ago.  I asked if there was a sound system provided for the ceremony.  She said, THE DIVINE PACKAGE INCLUDES SOUND SYSTEM; 2 SPEAKERS, 1 MICROPHONE, 1 CD PLAYER AND A CABLE FOR iPod.

I also asked about vases and she said they will rent them to you for $10/vase.

I'm bringing my own photographer with me, but chose the Divine package.  Anel said that the photography service may be utilized during another part of our trip (IE, the rehearsal dinner).

Additional questions I have - is a sound system/mic provided for the ceremony? How are the tables set up for the reception?

Thanks a lot!

This is the company they use, I believe Miguel Cantrell (spelling off). Hope that helps :)
