Now Sapphire Weddings Formerly Paradisus Riviera

@@Gabyc22 Sorry for the late reply. We tipped our WC $100 and the waiters/bar staff $20 each (I think). I gave the money to the banquet captain to distribute evenly (including him - he was awesome). We also gave the head waiter a bit extra because he was amazing. We didn't have a DJ. We also tipped at the spa for our hair & make-up (I think $20 each as well).

I'm guessing you are there already! Hope you are having a wonderful time and all the best for your wedding day  :D

@vancouverpetunia  No problem.  Yes, we just arrived back last night.

Everything went very well.  I'll be writing my review in the next few weeks.

I'm here to help if any future brides have questions or doubts.

@Johnsonspartyof2  Hmmm there was a little bit but nothing too crazy.  The beach still looked beautiful.  Some days it looked more beautiful than others.

Are you still researching for your wedding or have you booked Now Sapphire already?

@Gabyc22 I was done researching and we planned on booking our date and blocking our rooms next month, I started buying my supplies for my save the dates and everything. Then a few more resorts popped up and now I am re-thinking my decision. I hear a lot about the seaweed and that scares me because I do plan on going to the beach. But in all honesty that is the only con I hear about when it comes to this resort. Part of me feel that this is just me having the jitters because this is such a big step. I'm scared of making the wrong decision.

I know exactly how you feel. I'm a beach person and so it was important to me. She I was first researching hotels back in October last year seaweed was really a problem but this resort ticked all the boxes. At the end I booked it and hoped it got better and it did.

What dates are you booking for? And what other resorts are you considering?

I can send h photos of the beach as of last week.

@@Gabyc22 Yes photos would be great! I was looking at Generations, Hyatt Ziva (Out of my price range), Beach Palace, And Hard Rock.

If I was to choose another resort it would be Beach Palace I like the perks they offer. But another thing im quite picky about are the suites. I want a oceanfront room with a jacuzzi on the balcony & Now sapphire offers it at a reasonable price. I was surprised how some resorts dont even offer it.

Date wise we were actually hoping for Aug 18 2018 but it being hurricane season scares me. So we went to May 2018

@Johnsonspartyof2  I was also looking at the Beach Palace when I was first looking.  But I fell in love with the Tequila terrace.  A friend went to a wedding at Beach Palace and she said it was more like a hotel rather than a resort. We also got a better price at Now.  Kids stayed for free so it was a big savings for my guests.

I was also skeptical about booking August but we got a really good price and we were so lucky it didn't rain.  We had a really hot and sunny day for our wedding.

I recommend if you go with Now Sapphire to do the Tequila Terrace.   It is the most private location as it is on the far end of the resort....people don't wander around as much that far on the beach so you won't have many random people walking in the back ground in your photos.

Hello brides!

I'm getting married there in 4 months on the tequila terrace. Is there sufficient lighting or do you recommend renting other lights than what comes with the package

I was also wondering how far in advance you booked the hair appointments and if you had makeup done there and if so if you recommend it?

Lastly, I read that a lot of people bring extra large cups to all inclusive resorts so you get larger quantities than the disposable cups usually given and don't have to return to the bar as often. Did anyone see these?

Thanks to much!

@@cayls55 We paid extra for the Italian lights.  We decided 2 days before the wedding to do the Italian lights and we don't regret it.  They looked beautiful.  There is enough light so you won't be completely in the dark if you decide not to pay extra.

I didn't use the salon for my hair and make up. My mom used my appointment instead of me and the hair and make up looked nice.  When you send your wedding planning form to your wedding coordinator it will ask there what time you want your hair/make up appointment and they'll arrange it for you.  I sent mine of a month and a half before.
