Now Sapphire Weddings Formerly Paradisus Riviera

Hi there,

Has anyone brought their own "real touch" bouquets instead of using the resort bouquet offered in the package? If so, any good experiences ordering from someone who already makes them up (quality, customer service), or has anyone made their own?

If you don't happen to use the bouquet in the package, has anyone had any luck being able to substitute another center piece possibly? Same with the extra bouts - maybe substitute fresh flowers for your hair or cake or some other substitution (ex: cost to rent vases for center pieces)?

Thanks!

@@Robersonpartyof2 Congrats! We are also at Now Sapphire in April 2016. Not sure where the "beach" location is for your package. When you get the private reception, the ceremony location and reception location are usually paired. But I like your plans for your dinner, etc. Cost effective and everyone will have a good time no matter what!

Juan Carlos is awesome. So happy to be working with him! What day are you arriving and what day is your wedding? That might help with the welcome gift. I think I would lean towards the lobby bar (we are planning to do a meet and greet there as well on night 1 or 2). I would worry that people might lose or forget the koozies if you give them out at the ceremony/dinner.

Happy planning!

@@ashlynm88 Juan Carlos told me I could sub the corsages (which I don't want) for something else - like flowers for the cake or petals for the flower girls. I didn't ask about bouquets or anything else though. He did say that I could apply the value of the bouquet to a more expensive bouquet. So seems like there might be some flexibility.

I brought all our bouquets down- I made them myself.  I had to use silk flowers since we had someone with an extreme latex allergy and "Real Touch" flowers are often made of latex.  I packed them all in a suitcase with packing peanuts so the wouldn't get crushed and it worked out perfectly!

I also brought our own Boutonnieres - Juan Carlos let me trade the bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres in the package for one additional centerpiece which worked out nicely.  Our centerpiece arrangements turned out beautiful!

Hi Ladies! I got married on Saturday and everything was amazing. I dealt with Ramon who was absolutely involved every step of the way he was great. I am here for another week let me know if you have any questions. I will do a review when i get home. :)

Hey, I'm just trying to find out how to make my hair appointment. Who did you contact? Thanks!

Wondering how I go about making hair appointments at the salon? Can I email someone?

Thanks!

I made my appointment with the WC during our meeting before the wedding.  My wedding was in November (low season for weddings), so with yours being in May I would contact your WC and ask them what to do, who to contact etc.  They can likely book for you.

I emailed the spa, [email protected]

The lady who usually takes the appointments is Gladys. I would just ask her to reconfirm. I had no issues, but she sent me the names, times, and what  service who is getting.

I used the resort for floral arrangements and I was not disappointed, but if you aren't going to use your bouquet thats included I bet they would work a deal and do another arrangement, especially if you aren't using their bridesmaids bouquets as well. I would just ask and make sure with your wedding coordinator. I didn't know really how my bouquets were going to look like, I gave Ramon an idea and he went with it and I loved mine! Now that I am thinking about it, I don't know if bridesmaids bouquets were included. (its been 4 months since my wedding there)

Does anyone have the table measurements (for the purpose of purchasing table clothes)?

Depends on which tables you are using, rounds squares longs?

There is a bridal suite that you can use in the spa area. It was a great place for everyone in my wedding party to hang out, it is an additional cost ($99 i think) but it includes a bottle of champagne, orange juice, and fresh fruit. It was a little toasty in there but I think they forgot to cool it down in there before we got there. That is where we had our hair and makeup done.

thanks for this info! I'd like to do rectangle tables, in a U shape for 30 people.. do you think there would be enough room on tequila terrace for this?

I was married at the Now Sapphire on September 14, 2015 and it was amazing - we could not have made a better choice for our wedding. There is lots to share so I took a template from someone else.

Adventure Photos:

I had read on this forum that Adventure Photos was horrible, so I brought along with us a family friend who also is good at photography. We had Adventure Photos for the one hour during the ceremony and I was not expecting much but when we went to go see the photos they were AMAZING! We had the Divine package so we were supposed to select 24 photos but we actually ended up buying quite a few and went home with 91. It was a struggle to even narrow it down to 91 - I wish we could have had all of the photos that she took. The photographer we had was named Ana.

Couples Dinner on the Beach:

Unfortunately, with the condition of the beach and the seaweed being piled literally right beside Tequila Terrace and the private dinner on the beach area - we opted to not have our dinner on the beach. My sister had mentioned wanting a romantic dinner with her boyfriend so we arranged with the concierge for my sister to have the dinner instead of us. We really aren't very picky people but all of the hard working employees were wheeling their wheelbarrows right past the dinner area constantly (which I completely understand - it had to be cleaned up) but the smell and environment wasn't super appetizing for us. My sister really enjoyed the dinner though and said the food was very good.

Spa:

We only had the massages that were part of the Divine package but it was amazing and super relaxing!

Salon:

All 3 of my bride maids, my mom, my mother in law all had our hair done at the salon and for the most part we were all really happy! My mom isn't used to having her hair done and it wasn't quite right so we had them make a few changes but she ended up happy with it! My hair wasn't exactly what I had envisioned but it still looked beautiful. Several of us had our makeup done at the spa also and at first my make up was way too dark but they corrected it for me. My mother in law is the only one who had to fix her make up back at the room. All in all, I was impressed with them - they were very accommodating of us.

Food:

The food at our cocktail hour was DELICIOUS! My husband and I still talk about the shrimp. Our signature cocktail was a Mojito. The food at dinner was also very good, I found that because I was so hot in my dress, I didn't have much of an appetite but what I did eat was good. Instead of a signature cocktail for the reception I had a shot of tequila with lime at each place setting.  All of my guests were very impressed with the food served at both the cocktail hour and the reception.

Tips:

-We had originally planned on having our ceremony on the beach by Tequila Terrace and our cocktail hour/reception at Tequila Terrace but the condition of the beach there is not great. There is a small mountain of seaweed being piled right beside Tequila Terrace and construction being done right beside Tequila Terrace. Luckily, we were the only wedding that day and Juan Carlos was very flexible with us. The morning of the wedding we went and talked to the wedding department and had our ceremony location changed to the beach in between buildings 4 and 5. The beach is larger there and there is less traffic so the sand is nicer and the seaweed is not the focal point. We had our cocktail hour at the swing bar and our dinner at the preferred pool. It was amazing and I am so happy with the way it all turned out.

-We really wanted a Mariachi band but thought that the price through the resort was too high so we hired MUSICANCUN and they were amazing. All of our guests loved them. We had a five piece band for about 45 minutes and paid around $650 USD I believe, plus the resort fee for bringing them to the resort.

-Trust Juan Carlos. The day after we arrived at the resort we met with him and gave him our two suitcases full of decorations and he took care of everything. I explained how I wanted things to look and he executed it perfectly. It was more beautiful than I could have imagined.

-Make sure you ask for a podium at the reception. We didn't ask for one and everyone making speeches had a difficult time holding everything and also trying to get enough light.

@@cvooys Congrats on your marriage and thanks for posting a review. I'm getting married at Now Sapphire next April so always helpful to get a first hand perspective. You mentioned construction by the tequila terrace. Do you have any details on this? How extensive, how long, etc? Just wondering if this will be an issue in April (hopefully the seaweed will be better by then - fingers crossed). Thanks!
