@@DinaQtobe.  How many things were decided for your wedding when you were in Mexico?  How did you pick decor and colors? I am starting to wonder about things like linens and colors for the wedding and I can't get a picture in my head b/c I have no idea what the hotel has on hand.

We didn't want to spend a lot of money on extras like linens and centerpieces, and therefore decided that what was included in the package was enough for us.  That being said, I knew that I wanted one long table, and my mom offered to make a table runner.  I used the bridesmaid bouquets and my bouquet as centerpieces - I brought plastic cups to put these in.  I also brought down seashells and battery operated tea lights and had them set up in wine glasses to add to the table to fill it in a bit more.  All of this I had decided on before I went down.  During our meeting a few days before the wedding, I gave Ramon all of the items that I had brought and explained how they were to be setup.  We also went over the colors of the flowers.  There was no pressure to purchase additional items or add on to our package, so I am not sure of what options the resort has.  Though they did have a few tables set up in their office that looked beautiful.  We made a lot of decisions on timing of our ceremony at our meeting with Ramon and he was extremely helpful with this.  I left a lot on the planning form blank and this was fine, we reviewed everything (and I mean everything) at our planning meeting.

I took a lot of inspiration from looking at photos from past weddings that have occurred at the Now Sapphire.  It gave me an idea of what I wanted and then I made it happen.  I'm not sure if this helps at all or answers your question.

I would like to add, that we took the bouquets and centerpiece back to our room after the reception.  Because I had brought the plastic vases we were able to keep the bouquets for the days following our wedding, and even brought them to our honeymoon resort to enjoy them.  They lasted a week after the wedding!

@GingerJ228  I ordered linens ( napkins/chair sashes) online for MUCH cheaper ( $.49 vs. $5.00 per chair sash) than waht teh resort is going to charge you. All they give you is the plain white table cloth, linens and white chair covers. Anything above is additional and from the brides have said ALOT more expensive.

I just got my napkins and chair sashes and they are very good quality and I will just bring them down with me. To pay $5.00/sash when I could pay $.49 online is absurd. I ordered from www.tablelinendirect.com but there is also www.tableclothsfactory.com

let me know if you have any other questions. Just my two cents. I am arleady spending a small fortune all the upchargse at the resort so trying to save where I can.

@@niknic456 glad it worked out for you. Such a bummer for me though because I received the 2014 guide but took reccos from brides on this site who were able to make changes, etc. which I will not be able to do. It is annoying but it's my own fault so at least I know now I can plan accordingly.

Thanks for the information

I agree with Vanessa, if you are set on adding table cloths, napkins, chair sashes, etc, buy them online as you save quite a bit of money.  Remember though that you will have to bring this down with you (extra luggage, more stuff to remember).  For us, those extra touches were not overly important.  When I look back at our wedding I remember more about how beautiful the ceremony was, the food, and the fun that we had with our friends and family.

For us, the day was so perfect without those extras.  I thought our table looked beautiful even without them, the terrace is beautiful all on its own.

@@DinaQtobe - you are right about having to pack the linens and checking an extra bag, etc. Your pics looks so beautiful. I actually had saved a pic of one of your bouquets a while ago as inspiration for mine bc it was so nice.

We are goign to have 8 round tables so for me I decided to get some linens to brighthen the tables up and because I am checking quite a few bags already the linens actually take up a small amount of rooom but eitehr way you are right it's the beach, it will be beautiful!

That is so awesome that you liked my bouquets.  When Ramon brought them to us on the day of the wedding I was so excited with how beautiful they were. :)  Try and take them back to your room after the wedding if you can - especially the centerpiece.  It smelled so wonderful in our room after! :)

I have seen pictures of weddings where there have been two rows of long tables.  It looked beautiful and there is definitely enough space.

@@vanessav53.  THank you.  I'll check out the sites you gave me.  I just feel like its more stuff to pack and more stress.  My fiancee said please make this as easy as possible and rent stuff from the hotel.  His words exactly were… I don't care how much money you spend as long as you get what you want and are not stressed put about the planning.  I think he know's that I am already going to had e 3 suitcases filled with clothes/shoes.  He actually wanted me to ship everything before hand but from what I heard on this board it may not arrive at the resort.. ever.

I feel like I am at a complete standstill until I have a headcount.  Once I know how many people are coming I can order supplies for my OOT bags, favors, decorations, etc.  The really fun stuff!!!!
