Thanks for the welcome cokcktail reception tip, Dina!  We were thinking 8pm, so people could spend the day in the pool and meet us after dinner (or before), but maybe 4:30 / 5pm works better so people can meet up pre-dinner.

Since we have such a large group of people coming with us, I have a feeling that we are going to show up at a restaurant and meet up with a bunch of people randomly.  Most likely, those people are going to want to all eat together.  Did you ever have more than 12 people?  And did they push tables together for you?

Also, are there any late night snack places open?  I am thinking there will probably be a few disco nights and we will likely want to grab a bite before heading to bed.

You could definitely do something at 8, but it will likely be quite busy.  Everyone hangs out in the lobby at night, as there isn't anywhere else to go except for the nightly shows.  The disco opens at 10.  We went there on the night of our wedding and had a blast, I wish we had have gone more than once :)

I don't think we ever had more than 12 people at once for dinner.  I'm honestly not sure how many they will accommodate.  It's hard because you want to spend time with everyone.  They always pushed tables together for our large group.

The buffet is open pretty late, but definitely not after the disco.  BUT there is room service 24 hours.  We never ordered, but my sisters did a few times and said it was always good.

Vanessa - yea to sending out invites! I loved that part as well. I'm not sending out another round. I was thinking about doing an evite a week or so before to tell them about the casual happy hour we want to do the night before our wedding.

Dina - as for the vows my other half isn't too big about writing his own vows. I was thinking about putting together a nice short one that both of us can say, but want some prompts from the minister. Do you think they would help incorporate that as well?

Also do they seam wedding dresses and suits at the resort?

Gannoham - I know time is going to fly by!! We aren't planning any for sure events for people. It's more like I know I want to go snorkeling so I will tell people and whoever wants to come can. I didn't want to be the "cruise director" for the whole week. I know my group is just ready to all hang out on the beach. I have heard there are vendors at the resort that can help you.

Past brides were the vendors helpful to get you out snorkeling, or other off site excursions?

Ok, I should clarify: the minister did the "repeat after me" stuff I believe for the exchanging of rings, and then we also recited our own vows that we had written ourselves.  What we "repeated" was beautiful, but our own vows added our own personal touch.  You could definitely write your own short vows, give them to the minister prior to the ceremony and he will have you repeat after him.  I have a funny story about this: Our minister spoke wonderful English.  While we were repeating the minister, he did not speak into the microphone, and with the wind from the ocean my husband found it hard to hear him. Patrick was trying so hard to repeat exactly what he heard and heard "I de-wed" instead of "I thee wed".  It was so funny to me, and when the minister repeated himself Patrick still didn't hear him properly.  I don't think he actually got the right words out.  Puts a smile on my face thinking about it.

They will definitely steam your dress and suit for you.  This was included in our Divine package.  Ramon was sure to go over exactly what we needed to do to ensure this happened correctly and timely.  We also had the groomsmen shirts ironed - for a pretty reasonable price of 2.50$ a shirt.

OMG....I've been planning my wedding with NOW Sapphire for well over a year and today I was told by this new coordinator Juan that 80% of the things I want for my wedding I can't have. I know I have read on this site, tripadvisor, etc....that other brides used the saxophonist that is included in the Divine Package for the cocktail hour and Juan says NOPE you must use the saxophonist during the ceremony. He also told me that I can do a unity candle because of the wind, okay I get it but I sent him a picture which shows the candles are in a hurricane vase protecting it from the wind, and of course he offered to sale me the sand ceremony for $50. He's also telling me that I can't use silk rose petals on the aisle runner because it's prohibited on the beach, but yet he can sell real rose petals to me for $25 a bag....and not to mention I'm not getting married on the beach!!! Clearly he didn't read my wedding form in detail and ignored the pictures. I felt like he was trying to tell me I can't have an item only to try to sale me something else that the resort provides.

I knwo I'm rambling, but I'm so livid and really need to go to bed before I hurt someone!!!

Brides do not settle for non-communication because you may end up disappointed at the last hour, like me.

WHERE IS RAMON????

Dina,

That is the cutest and funniest thing I've heard. Very sincere as your hubby was probably a little nervous. I think we might add to his vows with our own, my FH isn't into thinking of his own and he doesn't want to say the wrong thing he claims. Thanks for the tips.

Glad they will steam my dress, still trying to decide how to travel with it. First dress fitting in a couple weeks so I'm going to talk to my tailor as well.

Thanks again

@Mention - bring your own stuff! We just picked the flowers that were around there that morning before the wedding (2 hours before). They use the real flowers because of the sea life which I TOTALLY get! I haven't heard anyone actually talk to Ramon until you are at the resort. I would go higher up and talk to someone about how they screwed things up before you get there. I am a huge advocate of going on facebook and talking to Olivia Rodriquez who is their social media guru! When is your wedding?

Hi Everyone,

Our wedding is at Now Sapphire in August with 25 people and will be having a party when we get home in September. I am looking to send invites out to the home party soon and was wondering what type of wording should go on that invitation. Alot of invites that I have seen say "they tied the knot" or "they did it" or something to the effect that we are already married, but we wont be till Aug. Anyone have any advice on this? I also dont know if it is rude to say something like we are getting married in mexico and your invited to the party after. Thanks for any info! :)

This was my hardship as well. I am sending out our invites for our reception back home before we even leave for Mexico. Here is what we put, we figure some people might think it's rude, but heck it's your wedding!

Megan and Bob request the pleasure of your company on

July 26, 2014 to celebrate their marriage commemorated

on June 19,2014 in Mexico.

Festivities will be taking place at ...

beginning at 5:30pm with dinner at 6:00pm

and dancing to follow

Hope that helps. I'm just using blank invites I found at Michael's on sale and printing them off at home. Simple, but still nice.

The wording was very hard. Good Luck!

Megan

I would recommend writing something along the lines of " Megan and Bob request the pleasure of your company on

July 26, 2014 to join in the celebration of their wedding vows made to one another on May 15, 2014"

So after going back and forth with the Juan Carlos my issues are now resolved. FYI...Any brides that are getting married in 2014 that have been booked with Now Sapphire for more than 9 months, I woud highly recommend making Anel or Juan Carlos aware that you booked your package using the 2012/2013 Wedding Guide.

It appears the 2013/2014 Wedding Guide does not allow you to exchange services that you don't need for something else (i.e. you can't swap out soup for an extra appetizer or use the saxophonist during cocktail hour).  And this was they reason why I went on a rant earlier this week, becuase initially Juan Carlos (the new Ramon replacement) was telling me that everything I wanted to do in my wedding I could not do, but he did apologize and agreed to honor all of my request since I'm a bride who booked well over a year ago for a different Wedding Guide.
