So glad you like the photos, thanks for the kind feedback! Most brides do not "totally trash" the dress, they get wet and if it's a beach shoot, they get sandy, but nothing that can't be washed out. Very very rarely do accidents happen, but when dealing with nature, sometimes you just can't predict it, a hem caught on a rock for instance, nobody can guarantee that the dress will come out unscathed, but it's generally the case that everything is all right. :)

Perfect! Thank you so much for answering my questions.

And I LOVE the photos. I just think the cenote photos are so unique and incredible.

From what i hear, most women don't TRASH the dress per say, but have it cleaned after they roll around in sand, get soaked, etc. my friend had the resort clean hers and it looked brand new again. Just depends on what you're comfortable with! But I definitely don't plan on getting rid of mine!

I am hoping mine comes clean enough to wear it for my AHR. I am hoping...

Hi Ladies - I've been considering whether I should buy an inexpensive dress to trash for the photoshoot (found one for $450 including tax and alterations) or to wear my actual wedding dress. I think I might stick with my own dress because it's special and way more beautiful than the inexpensive one. However - after returning home, we're having a local wedding reception and I'm a little worried that my dress might be too dirty for the reception back in town. Has anyone done this before? Do you guys have any suggestions? I don't think if we'll be able to travel to any cenotes. But I was really excited about getting into the ocean or swimming pool at least. Any feedback appreciated!

My photographer calls it a "Rock the Dress" which I think is a bit more appropriate (and less "scary) terminology.  You don't wreck your dress by any means.  It's just more sassy, sexy photos, hair down and more casual (and yeah, you maybe get a little wet) cheesy.gif  Tons of fin, do it!!!

Agreed with sgreen! PS- sassy pics girl! gorgeous I half contemplated getting a second dress in case I didn't feel like wearing mine, but I think u can definitely just take some fun shots semi in the water etc, without ruining it! And my friend also got the resort to clean hers after being submerged in it and it looked like new ;)
