Was there a meaning behind your wedding date?

I am getting married on June 8th 2014 because that date was available.  There is no special significance for us.

We haven't booked our dates just yet, but our plan is to have our legal wedding on October 2, 2015 in Toronto.  Our actual anniversary is on October 4, but it's on a Sunday and during hurricane season so that date didn't work.  Our symbolic Cuban ceremony will hopefully be on November 24, 2015, the anniversary of the date he proposed.

We haven't picked a date yet, but it probably will just be an avavilable date in the window we can do.

 

I did not want to do November-December because it's too close to the holidays and people tend to spend a lot of money on gifts and travel and I don't want it to be a hardship for them to throw this in as well. His job does not allow employees to take off from September-October, so those are out. I feel that for my guests it might be too hot to attend a wedding in July-August. And April-May are more holidays and more travel.

 

That pretty much January-March. Our anniversary is in march.

We chose feb 29th... A leap year day! The running joke is that my FI is scared of commitment (will be 43 and getting married for his first time)... So we joked that it would be perfect as he would only need to count anniversary years every 4 years.

 

All kidding aside it was a date that would be easy to remember and far enough away that allowed our guests to save $ in order to join us on our special day!

We chose the 30th December, because we started dating on that date, six years ago. It also happens to be his parents and brothers wedding anniversary too! So we'll all be able to celebrate together in years to come :-)

Unfortunately I was unable too. Our anniversary is 12.21.04 (winter equinox) so naturally I wanted it 06.21.15 (summer equinox) also 10 years later. But it is too soon so we are waiting til February 2016

None. We picked a day in a week that we could get a decent price point for our guests.

We had considered May 4 as it's out first date anniversary and my late mothers birthday but decided we wanted to travel in the dead of winter which may is not.
