The ones they give you at the airport are just little paper ones, Doing a laminated or leather one is a really nice keepsake for everyone.  We are doing pain leather ones "His" and "Hers" for all our guests.  They can reuse them (unlike the paper ones) and remember our wedding by it.  I think it all depends on budget though!

Ceremony programs is one thing I was going to leave out because I actually felt the same way!! I'm sorry about your added expense that went to waste but thank you for the tip!!

(my programs didnt all get put out and we found a box of more than half of them sitting aside later during the reception. those that did get them on their seats left them laying around the tables, etc. i realized later that was a big time and money waster -for me- and wished i didnt do them at all after that!)

I went to a destination wedding and the bride made luggage tags with a really brightly colored ribbon to attach it to our suitcase!! The neat thing was not everybody going to the wedding knew each other. Having these tags on our luggage we were able to meet people at the airport that were traveling to the wedding as well otherwise we would of not known them. It was a good ice breaker for us with the brides aunt and uncle.. Just words for thought!!

I think they are a nice gesture, but he does have a point in saying that they are a little pointless as the airport supplies them for you! I see a LOT of people do them, so help me decide!!!

My guests LOVED receiving them! They ALL used them, some people even requested some extra ones, as they had more than one suitcase. It was easy to identify all our bags at the airport - we all helped each other watching for our tags. And we still use them, as do a couple other family members. Others are keeping them as a memento.

My original idea was to get bright lime green strips of fabric (my colours were dark teal and lime green) and send them instead to tie on the suitcases. I was solely thinking of the identifying of the bags at the airport. I then got the idea that my mom could machine embroider our monogram onto these strips of fabric. I told her of this idea and she took it upon herself to make actual luggage tags for me.

I could have given or taken the luggage tags themselves... what I loved was the originality and ease of identifying the bags.
