Help with all inclusive resorts for a wedding in Cancun

Recommended Posts

My fiance and I recenty decided to have a destination wedding in Cancun for January 2012. Since this is all new for me and we have never been in Cancun I don't know how to start the planning. I checked a coupled of hotels that we like, so I wrote to them to obtain  more information about their wedding options/packages, requirements etc.... but nobody has replied so far. I sent emails to GR Solaris and Tucancun three weeks ago and nothing. I am wondering if they dont care or are to busy to worry about an intimate and small wedding reception. I dont know. I see in this site that many of you had beautiful weddings in Cancun, please how did you do it? who did you contact first?, how long in advance? which affordable and beautiful hotels do you recommend for a wedding, please help!

I'm getting married in Playa del Carmen, but I started with my travel agent... she researched things for me and is handling everything. If you want, I can provide her information.

In your situation I would definetly start with a travel agent- I would recommend one that specializes in destination weddings! There are some great ones on this site- esp Wright Travel! Good luck!

Hey,

We struggled so much to make the same decision.  We decided that since it is your guests vacation too, they might want to be able to explore without running into people they know everywhere.  We also have a couple guests who would not necessarily want to be running into each other all time time.  For those reasons, we chose the Grand Sunset Princess.  We got in pretty early so the prices were really low.  We also get two chances to lower the price for all the 'early bird' rsvp'iers.  This means that we might be able to surprise our guests with a lower price.

We definately wouldn't have been able to make this decision  without our travel agent.  We also went to a couple photographers (Moments that matter) websites to see pictures they had taken at the resorts we were looking at.

I hope that helps!
