RL/Nicole,

I am finally confirming my contract with Le Blanc by week's end.  I almost got pressured into looking at other resorts to save the guests $$$, but I really love Le Blanc.  I'm going with the Signature Wedding package, but have you all done any research that suggests that it's better to customize the basic package?  I'm thinking that could get really expensive.  But, let me know your findings.  I found a really great photographer on www.junebugweddings - here is his site (http://www.zasil-playa-weddings.com).  He's probably not on the approved list for Le Blanc, but I'm going to see how we can get around that if possible.  I definitely want to save on photography because my hubby-to-be and I are planning to travel to South Africa and we want to splurge on photography there.  The main reason that we are having a ceremony closer to stateside is to introduce our families so that they can share in our celebration.

Can someone send me the preferred vendor's list for Le Blanc.  I don't know why it is taking Yesenia so long to respond to my phone calls and emails and I have real questions regarding my contract.  Also, is anyone else getting married in June?  I would love to compare rates since youguys are saying there might be a difference.

One last question: I only found a few photos for previous weddings at Le Blanc, can someone PM me a few great links.  Happy Planning!

Hello,

I shared this review with other brides; it's amazing. I'll PM you the vendor list I received.

You made a great choice by choosing LeBlanc, I had second thoughts about the price but in the end I wanted to make sure I was getting with I wanted  for my wedding!

Hope this helps!

Hi ladies. Congrats on your upcoming Le Blanc weddings. After a visit to Le Blanc in April we booked our wedding for June 2, 2012. It makes me a bit nervous that they do not allow you to pick your exact space for reception on the property until 3 months prior. Anyone else experiencing this issue? We are guaranteed space for the ceremony but nothing else until 3 months. Also photographers Del Sol is amazing but expensive (and worth it) but they do have a sister comPany La Luna who are also great. They are both accepted vendors. As for an actual vendors list I have not yet received Any info. If anyone has info I'd live to get it. I'm new to posting on the forum so bare with me. :). Also I didn't think to get a decorator/coordinator. You all are manking me nervous haha. Also I am going through my great TA who specializes in destination weddings and has coordinated a Le blanc wedding before as well. She is great and got us an amazing rate that includes transfers from airport and resort as well as the option to pay over the yr. The resort also considers the bookings valid for the B&G kickbacks which is great. I'm kinda nervous about planning and also nervous about a chance of another wedding being booked on the same day. Ahh but I'm excited an hopefull we can share our info. Thanks girls. Lauren

Ladies,

I've started the save the dates and the invitation process! Now, I'm extremely confused! After reading about "invitation etiquette", I don't know what to do.

1. Do I hire a calligrapher? Proper etiquette says that envelopes should be handwritten.

2. Outer & Inner Envelopes???? WTF?

I swear these little things and details are going to be the death of me! stupid.gif

HELP!!

Hi Ladies,

I scouted a few resorts in Mexico in April and nothing compared to Le Blanc and so we booked our June 2, 2012 wedding several months ago! I am so glad to find a group og Le Blanc brides! So exciting! I have to say I am a bit nervous after reading all your planning so far.

Question for you brides, afetr booking your date were you able to confirm reservation of the actual space you will have your reception (gazebo, beach, garden, etc.)  while our date is booked and the time..what time are your ladies booked for? Well the resort will not allow us to reserve the actual space on property for the reception until 3 months prior...anyone else have this issue? Or are you all reserved?

Also I am using a great travel agent who was able to get amazing rates and the perks that Le Blanc offers are still available. If anyone would like her info feel free to message me (although Im new to the forum and not sure how to do anything just yet). She specializes in Destination Weddings and has planned a wedding in Le Blanc before!

My major decision is the photog...I would love to use Del Sol or (if I cant fit them into my budget their sister company La Luna).

I have emailed (and so has my TA) Le Blanc for a list of vendors so I could look into their work but have not yet heard from anyone. Does anyone have the vendor list?

I also was going to hire Mannia Cancun for the DJ but wanted to look into the resorts DJ (save some day pass fees!)

Also I never thought to hire a decorator/planner? Does everyone think its essential? All the photos of real weddings at Le Blanc look so beautiful I ant imagine adding anything more..but I'd love your feedback. Ugh Im so nervous about it all but so excited too!!!

I dont know what to do first...any suggestions!

And congrats girls!

Lauren

Hi Nicole,

As a graphic/design professional I would recommend that you hire a local calligrapher for your invitations if it fits the budget, style and vibe of your selected layout.  Current trends prove that you do not always have to use an inner envelope, but if you do choose to go that route definitely address the inner envelope to each guest or print some sort of message on the outside of it that keeps with your theme and can be generalized for each guest.

If you choose not to use an inner envelope, then I would definitely recommend using an envelope liner to add more substance to your invitation suite.  If you have great handwriting you can always write the addresses yourself.  Of course, that's if you have time.  An alternate to doing calligraphy would be creating a glamorous customized label that is designed as an additional component of your invitation suite and lastly, you could always do printed laser calligraphy if you have your printer has the capabilities to print envelopes.

Kindly note:  DIY sounds good in the beginning, but if you are not experienced with papers, formatting, inkjet vs. laser, you may want to have your stationer provide that service.  You can end up wasting a lot of money in the trial/error process.  But, as an artist I always encourage people to experiment if you have the time and patience.

Good luck and let me know if you have other direct questions.  Cheers!

Thanks for tips! I'm sooooooooo not a DIY person, I rather pay someone. I decided to have the invitation designer/printer print the addresses on them. I'm still debating on the inner/outer envelope ordeal. At this point, I think it may be just an outer because my invites are double the cost of my budget crybaby2.gifbut they're going to be SO PRETTY.

So since you're an artist, I'm assuming you're taking on all these DIY projects yourself?
