Mrstgun's Planning Updates (Pic Heavy - FINAL Planning Post - Page 65, Post 642)

I love your idea of painting these seashells and using them to line the aisle! Hope you don't mind, but I might steal your idea. I've been trying to find painted or dyed seashells, but haven't found the right colors so painting might be a better option. Will you be reusing your aisle seashells for your table decorations? Thanks!

its been awhile..i've been swamped with work and lots of planning and so, here's my latest DIY project...shells...well, painting shells.

my colorscape includes all shades of purple and platinum (silver)...so i've been mixing metallic watercolor paint to perfect the best shades of purple..some lavender, some dark purple, some indigo and well, you catch my drift...following are pics of the finished shells...woo hoo!!!

Love all your shells, you can TOTALLY make that shell bouquet DIY if you are up for it as you are definitely crafty enough!!!! A foam ball from any craft store (or some dollar stores) some shells and a glue gun will be your BFF.  I was making shell pomanders (1 mini done and 1 large) but ended up finding them at winners (your marshalls) for cheaper than I could make them so just bought them but your bouquet would be the exact same!!!! You can do it!!!!!  cheer2.gif

for everyone who has inquired about the shells...here's a peak at my loot and ALL of them have come from ross..(price range $6.99 to $11.99) there are other websites and stores that sell shells including the dollar store but i had a specific sort of shell in mind for my big day.  i'm also including the inspiration behind what they will ultimately be used for...(to line both sides of the aisle and to serve as decoration on our reception tables...can't wait to post the AFTER photos)...  cheesy.gif  R~

i wish i was crafty enough to make this...as i think it would be really beautiful for the wedding..but i'm not THAT crafty and i don't know how i'd get the darn thing to Jamaica...

ladies..you are are so incredibly sweet...i'm having a BLAST with ALL of my DIY projects..the problem i'm running into is..I KEEP ADDING PROJECTS..so i think i'm going to trim my list and try to keep it as simple as possible...

redginger..i'm contemplating that..but because i'm a sanitary freak, i think its best if i keep the table and aisle shells separate...feel free to steal the idea, i too couldn't find ALL shades of purple so i simply visited a craft store and Home Depot..bought some spray paint and some water colors and got my paint on.  :-)  its been a blast...

ok, so for today's post...i did RESERVED signs for the aisles..still working on these..but here's what i've got thus far.  enjoy!!

hi, samantha.i didn't really use a template per se...i'd been wanting to do reserved signs so i googled reserved signs and then designed one to go along with my stationery suite which includes shells so i simply cut and pasted a few shells and a starfish into a Word file...made a custom size paper 4.5 x 6.5 and used the same fonts that i've been using on all of my stationery items..passport, boarding passes, etc.

i printed the signs on the 4.5 x 6.5 card stock...glued them to a silver 5 x 7 card..put the ribbon between the cards and then put them together...fairly easy and cost efficient...

my supplies are as follows.

purple ribbon - Dollar Store ($1.00/spool - 6 yeards per spool)

card stock (came in a Correspondence Kit from Office Depot with 20 piecs of both white and silver cardstock) - can't remember the price on those but i think it was about $7.50 (on sale)

elmer's gluestick

i can send you the file if you like, but the fonts were downloads so they may not work for you...you can download free fonts at dafont.com..the ones i used were Scriptina and Riesling.  cheesy.gif

until next time, take care!!  oh and as always, happy planning!!!

Ohhhhh I love your reserved signs, definitely taking this idea.  We wanted to do something for our parents to be used at both the ceremony and dinner for their chairs (an added something special) so this is a great idea!!!!!   Are you planning on having them hang over the back of the chair?! Would love to see you vision!!!!

Great work as always!

torilynn...i'm using the ones previously posted for the ceremony and they'll be tied to the ribbons on the back of the chairs....i'm using the ones below for the rehearsal dinner...

they will be placed at each place setting for the rehearsal dinner...i'm trying to keep our reception very low key and fun so we won't have assigned seating except for the groom and i...so the ones below will be used to reserve our seating.  msnwink.gif
