Gran Bahia, Runaway Bay. 18th July 2011, help and advice needed!!

Recommended Posts

Hi There

I am due to get married in 5 weeks today and the wedding nerves are starting to get the better of me.

Are there any previous GBP brides out there who can help with a few questions or any brides that are way more organised than me.

What currency do they prefer in Jamaica?

How do you pay for extra, cash or credit card?

Whats the weather like in July?

Do you get a room upgrade?

Many Thanks

I am getting married at that resort and I know they take US dollars is the prefered currency. I believe minister fees must be payed in cash, other then that things can be payed with a credit card.  I don't know what the weather in July is like and i beleive they do an upgrade if possible.  Join this thread:

Jay Kay is right about everything, and I was told that the minister fees are to be paid cash.

I just asked this question a week ago and was told everything could be paid by credit card...even ministers fees.  I think if you choose to do that, they just give cash to the minister.  It's hot and really humid in July but doesn't rain often so hopefully your big day will be nice and dry!  At the resort I'm sure they prefer US currency, off the resort I know that most places will take it but might charge you more for things.  But if you don't have to figure out exchange rates and if you got the correct change in a diff currency, I think I'll just pay the extra.  As for upgrades, I think you just have to ask when you get there.  It's in all the wedding packages and says based on availability.  You're getting married a few days before us!!  We are July 23, 2011 :)
