Anyone using a purse, handbag, clutch on the wedding day? Ideas?

Hi all future brides and past brides!

Anyone using a clutch or handbag of sorts on the wedding day? If you already have one, can you post pics?  If you did, was it useful, can you post pics? If you didn't, did you wish you had?

I'm debating on whether or not to have one.  It would be nice to have a few things in rather then have to run back to the room (which may be far away).  I'm also curious to hear what other brides are doing.

I will have a mother of pearl clutch my friend lent it to me from her wedding.  I don't have a picture of it but its very similar to this style - only its all ivory and matches my dress.  I plan on carrying lipstick, eye drops, room key, cash.  We'll have bathroom amenity baskets so most items I could need will be in there (hairspray, pins, band-aids, etc). I hope my tip envelopes/thank yous fit in there - not sure what I'm going to do with them otherwise.

I'm thinking of having one (or all) of my bridesmaids carry a small clutch with the one or two things I might need during the day. Luckily we will be close to the room if I do need something, and who knows, I might need that 5-minute break away from the action every once in a while

Our room is very close to the wedding ceremony/reception location, so I can just go back for things. But my fiance can also carry my lipstick and small items in his jacket or pants pocket :-)

to be honest i have seen brides have them.. but really unless you have (your friend ) then really i see no need to have one, you shouldn't have to worry about carrying it around

You're really not going to have to worry about carrying it.  Your WC will take it from you before the ceremony and then bring it to the reception and stash it at your table.  I'm glad I had one and nver had to worry about it.

I used one. A friend told me that I would not need it because someone can just hold my lip gloss. But then I decided that I also wanted to have my phone, room key, and some cash on me. So, in my mind, that was enough for a purse.

 

I bough this clutch from a vendor on etsy.com: http://www.etsy.com/listing/56339631/ivory-satin-jacquard-clutch-evening-bag?ga_search_query=jacquard%2Bclutch&ga_search_type=user_shop_ttt_id_5323931. It's big enough for my phone, camera, lip gloss, room key, and some money, but still compact. The same vendor also sells that clutch with different pins/brooches on the flap, all very nice.

 

I really like it, but I doubt that I will ever use a white clutch again. Since I am the first of my close friends to get married, I've offered to lend it to all of them once it's their turn. If you're thinking of using a purse, I'd ask around for one to borrow. Unfortunately for me, no one had anything that worked!
