home printing of envelopes not working - any ideas?

hi ladies - so it's friday night and we are trying to print our STD envelopes when we should be out enjoying this weather and starting our vacation week - NERDS - HA!!!

 

anyway, the envelopes are a teal color transparent vellum No.10 and my printer is not doing a good job at making it happen.

does anyone have any experience with this or ideas? i definitely do not want to do labels or hand printing and am not going to spring for calligraphy - AAAAHHH!!!

so are they smearing? or just not printing in the right place?

Sometimes it has to do with the direction you are feeding the envelope.

Try feeding it with the flap going a different direction. Of course you will need to change the direction under printing prefrences as well. Hope that is not too confusing

What kind of printer do you have? And which issues exactly are you having with the envelopes? If we know these things, we might be able to help you better.

i have a Brother MFC 440CN. it is new and has been working well.

 

the problem is that the envelopes arent' even getting to the point where the ink is printing on them b/c they are jamming.

 

i am thinking about calling staples or a printing place but i am afraid that willl be $$$$$$$$!

So are you feeding the envelopes like this: __ or like this | ? And does your printer roll the paper or does it feed straight in? If your printer rolls the paper I'd try putting the envelopes flap up laying this way: |.

 

You'll have to adjust the settings in whatever word processing program you are using as well probably on the document and on the print settings.

i have to feed them like | because they are too wide for the printer the other way. it rolls so i will attempt it with the flap up and let you know!
