Gifts for your traveling photographer??

Recommended Posts

We started planning an at-home wedding for the past year, we booked our venue and photographer already.  We changed our minds a few months ago and decided to do a destination wedding.  We already put down $1200 on our photographer so we didn't want to lose that.

Come to find out, our photographer travels at NO EXTRA COST!  Also they are going to be at our at-home reception at NO EXTRA COST!  We are paying a good amount for them though.

I was wondering if anyone else has their own photographer coming along and if you gave them special gifts? or tips?  Right now we are giving our guests OOT bags, should we do the same thing for the photographers?

Thanks!

What a nice gesture!!! We will be giving our photographer the same OOT bag as everyone else. Also, it seems a lot of people do not include their photographer in dinner service or even provide food. In our case the photographer will be sitting down with us and eating what any other guest will eat. We are inviting her to the welcome dinner as well as any events that are planned. I don't plan on tipping but I do plan on buying an extra album or two for family after the wedding.

We are not bringing a photographer at home, but I think giving them an OOT bag and including them in some things is a nice gesture that will not go un noticed.  Plus it gives you time to get a feel for each other and probably make for better photographs!

Although gestures such as gifts are nice(who'd say no,eh? :) ), they are not necessary.   Best gift you can give us is your thank you and glowing reviews for your family and friends.

And yes, as ScrpioBride said, please don't forget to feed us. It's not easy to take good pictures when you are starving for 8-14 hours

:)

Cheers.
