We choose a Destination Wedding, because when else do you get to go on holidays with your family, in-laws and close friends!!! I have been to a few DW and found that it created a really strong support group around the bride and groom because the special people in their lives had a chance to really form relationships!!! I love it, and cant wait for mine!!!!

FI and I chose a destination wedding because neither of us wanted the big church wedding and the reception.  Also, because we want our guests to be able to enjoy a week's vacation along with us and it will hopefully be a party all week long!

We went to destination wedding 2 years ago and being there the whole week with the bride and groom was a lot of fun and a lot less hassle.  Fingers crossed it works the same way for mine!

Hey ladies!

My FI and I have been together for 7 years!  Lol long I know. We always knew we were going to get married and wanted to something different than the usual rent-a-hall-type....so we though let's get married somewhere hot!  This also worked out well because we live in Vancouver, BC but are originally from Toronto, ON so one side of the family would need to travel anyway.

As for the location ideally we wanted something like Costa Rica or St. Lucia, but when it came down to it the travel costs for our guests would be too much.  With that said we opted for Mexico because of the proximity and affordability.

Hope this helps!

We chose a DW for a lot of the same reasons, relatives all would have to travel anyways to attend our wedding, mine are in Montreal, Ottawa, NY and Greece, and his, well he was only going to invite his parents, brother and 3 aunts and they are coming to our wedding in the DR anyway!

I really didn't want a big wedding, and didn't want to invite the obligatory people so this way, we could invite them and not have to worry about them showing up (I hope that doesn't sound too bad of me)
