Gorgeous! how long did it take u to make it

It took a few weeks to research prices and to collect brooches and other supplies. Once I started wiring brooches and taping everything together, it was just a few hours (including ripping it apart and starting over a few times lol).

well mine is still a work in progress, I find that the wiring leaves my poor lil fingers just a mess, and I am using some jewlery that is 80 years old so there are repairs to make as I go but here is the current work in progress, my plan is to have lilies all around it with the bling in the centerP1140012.JPGP1140013.JPGP1140014.JPG

every pin and earing are either from my jewelery box or deceased now, mom, grandmother, great grandmother, great aunt, living aunt previous mother in law, new mother in law sister.  Each one has a story, the butterfly on the top was actually part of a wind chime my FH gave me the first time we met, it had gotten broken in a move and I never let go of the pieces, so it all has meaning and it makes me smile, that said, my sister noted I may have to put wheels on the darn thing, its getting very very heavy

most of mine is not a traditional brooch, I used very thin craft wire and wired the piece using any area I could for some that wire just became part of the piece,  then used a thicker wire underneath to attache to a stem, then wrapped all in floral tape.  Its a really long process, but it is strong as heck and wont fall apart, my concern with using a glue would be the heat and the glue and leaving a lil trail of jeweled bread crumbs to the ceremony.  I wanted it to be in an orb shape to suit the design with the lily's later, but you can also wire them together in a traditional bouquet shape.  Just a note, this is hard on your hands, the wire can cut and easily pierce skin, and its a finiky job so gloves to help much.  I found its totally worth it but forwarned is forearmed lol

For the items that are not brooches do you attach or glue a pin to it ?
