Dukan Brides!!!

Recommended Posts

I have heard of "the greatest show on earth" I'm about to marry a Canadian (he's from Winnipeg and couldn't be happier the jets are coming back)!  I've had to brush up on my Canadian history and geography.

My FI actually is considering doing the Dukan diet as well, so I guess I have lost some weight!  We went to go and try on a seer sucker suit for the wedding and his pant size was 3 sizes larger and needless to say he was NOT happy!

I hear you on the grease situation.  I'm not a big greasy food kind of girl, but I can't help myself when it's state fair time.  My BIGGEST weakness is deep fried snicker bars!  But I spend the next 2 days paying for that.  It's heavenly!

I know my body would never reject chocolate, we are like "peas and carrotts"!  Speaking of which i'm having carrots right now!

Do you find that you grill more now that you are on this diet or do you have any good chicken recipes, I'm getting at a stale point with chicken.  Right now I'm grilling burgers on a near nightly basis!

Ha ha - ya - Stampede is a big deal over here -our downtown just about shuts down for those 10 days...most have heard of it but not everyone. That is awesome the Jets are coming back - Canada could use another hockey team!

Wow- ya- lol - I guess thats a bit of motivation for him to start. I think guys do well on Dukan because they love meat so much anyway.

Yes - i anticipate I'll be trying some deep fried jelly-beans this weekend when we head down. I've heard there's deep fried Kool-Aid now! Geeze - where does it end?!?
Glad to hear ur able to munch on the carrots instead of chocolate. Wish I had your will power - ha ha. I think next week i'm going to do 7 solid days of Protein next week to get back on track. It will be needed I think.

lol - the radio has just reported that there's 3000 people waiting in line for wrist bands to see the Royal couple! unreal!

Given that it's summer - ya - I'm grilling ALL the time..pretty much everyday. i'm usually doing burgers (homemade)...chicken breasts...fish (Basa fillets - so good!)...beef and pork tenderloin. It does get a bit old - but I've just found I try to season with different things each time. I came up with a Dukan friendly recipe for 'Teriyaki sauce'...and I've gone out and bought A LOT of different seasonings. But not going to lie - I do use my homemade BBQ sauce a fair bit too. I know he says no sauces..but honestly by the time its grilled - there's not a lot left on the meat. That way i'm not spraying the meat like crazy with PAM or Olive oil to prevent from sticking and i still get some flavor with it. My fave seasonings are Roasted Red pepper and Garlic...Parmesean and Herbs..and Montreal Steak Spice. Mrs.Dash has a lot of decent seasonings too and there's no added salt which makes us Dukaners happy!
Oh! And a lil tip for burgers...I'm not sure if you make your own or not - but if you do - instead of using pure ground beef - I actually mix half extra lean ground beef and half ground pork. It makes them extra juicy!!

now maybe I read this wrong but I thought we could NOT have pork.  My photo copy from the book does not show pork.  Did I miss something?

I hear you on the spices.  My FI says I'm a spice-ologist now.  Everything I eat has TONS of spices.  Plus I've found some fat free sugar free feta cheese and cheddar cheese and those have been life savers.

Too bad we can't get the same spices/seasonings you have in canada, the one you showed on your post sounds amazing but when i've looked I havn't found a parmesagan seasoning that I could have.  (But I did find at Trader Joe's some fat free/sugar free parm!)

Hmmm - you're makin me think now. I do remember him saying something about avoiding fatty pork..like bacon...but as long as its lean it should be fine.
I do know I used pork tenderloin during my attack phase where I lost my 9.7lbs...so ya - I think if you just avoid the fatty cuts you should be ok.

oooo that cheese sounds yummy. Thats been hard for me to avoid - I love cheese..and even though there's protein and no carbs - its still fatty :(

Oh poop - I didn't think of that. Ya- if you could use something similar it should be good

Try the teriyaki if you like it - I just mix some low sodium soy sauce...some ground ginger...granulated garlic and a tablespoon or so of Splenda...its sooooo goood!

yeah i've been trying to be a good "dukan dieter" and keep to the "approved list" i'm scared if I venture too far away that I'll gain the weight!

finding cheese that is fat free and sugar free has been hard (I currently have to go to 3 different grocery stores because each store only carries one type of fat free sugar free cheese!

I use the reciepe for the vietnamese beef (out of the Dukan book) for most of my meat and it's just like your teriyaki sounds.  It's so yummy!  So much so when I make it the FI eats half of it!

I have a hard time with fish because I'm allergic to all fresh water fish and being this far away from an ocean terrifies me.  I was so spoiled living by the ocean and having access to all that great fresh seafood.  That's one thing I will be sure to go and eat when I head home!

well I hope the protein "attack phase" is going well for you this week.  I think you have the potential to be "healthy" in vegas.  Just more lean meats and veggies!  Watch those margaritias!!!

It's been hard to stay motivated especially without looking at a scale every day, but to see the end results.  I bought some new "fat pants" and they are sliding off!!

That's a nice motiviation.  19 down only 16 more to go!!!

P.S. I'm super jealous you are heading to Vegas next week!!!

Its going not too bad - i've recouperated the few pounds I gained last week which is good - its still frustrating because I'm having lose these 4lbs twice over - but its my own fault i know.
Ya- I'll try to make decent choices while there. If anything I may just sweat it off cuz it will be so hot! LOL

ohhh i love when pants slide off!
Right now - my engagement ring is actually starting to slide off pretty easy. I'll have to get it sized soon - but I may aswell lose more weight first!
