Just wanted to say HI!  I too am from Chicago and planning a June 2012 wedding. :-) we are getting marred on June 29th in the Dominican Republic.

 

What I would suggest is get in touch with a travel agent.  There are some that offer services for free.  The company I went with is Free.  The Travel Agent can help get you information on different resorts/hotels in the area of your choice as well as pricing.  Might be helpful.

Welcome!  I too am from Chicago and we are getting married in Riveria Maya on May 5, 2012 at the Azul Sensatori.  I have gone back and forth so many times about which resort but fell in love with certain things at the Azul Sensatori.  All we have done is locked in the date but I really need to get planning.  Good luck with everything!!!!

Who has had a wedding in August?! I WAS excited to start searching for our DW to be held in Punta Cana but then I was informed it is rainy/hurricane season    So I am not sure if i should go with out Punta Cana location or perhaps change to Riviera Maya?
