El Dorado Ballroom @ Dreams Los Cabos

Recommended Posts

Hello Ladies!

Just wondering if anyone has had their wedding reception inside the Dorado ballroom @ Dreams Los Cabos? I know most destination brides have outdoor receptions, but my fiance and I opted for an air conditioned reception just to be a little more comfortable.  We did a site visit last September when we were trying to decide which resort to host our wedding at. I've seen the ballroom once before, but would love to see what other brides have done with the ballroom as far as decor, setup, etc.  Just trying to remember exactly what the room looks like (the resort could only provide me with one photo :( ) and get ideas for my October wedding.

If anyone has had their reception inside the Dorado ballroom and would like to share ideas or photos, it would help me out tons!

TY!

I was the photographer for KiwiBride's wedding there last month and she had a portion of her reception in the El Dorado ballroom.  it was really nice.

I originally thought it was going to be in the convention center, however on a stake out mission I found it.  I didn't realize they had a ballroom upstairs on the otherside of the lobby!  Who knew?!! :)

Anyway, I'm sure you could PM her about her reception, but from my perspective it was beautiful.  They had round tables of 8 or 10, probably 5 of them.  The dance floor, and then out on the patio was the bar.  It was also very nice that it had private bathrooms right there so people weren't having to run down the stairs and to the lobby.  I can upload some photos of the room tonight if you'd like.

That's so funny you would mention KiwiBride because as a fellow dreams bride, I've been waiting for her to upload her pics and review.

I'm so glad to hear the reception was nice and that the ballroom was also nice. Makes me feel better about my decision:) Thank you!! I was actually curious about the "terrace" as they called it (or the patio) because I don't remember seeing it during our site visit. I do, however, remember the private bathrooms which I also liked.  If you could upload a few pics that would be great. I would really appreciate it!!

I may also send KiwiBride a PM. She might be a busy newlywed ;) I look forward to her review.

Thank you so much, Tlseege!!!

The terrace is about a 10x10 square with a bar on one end (not included in the 10x10 calculation.  So it's not too large, but during Victoria's wedding there were usually 3-4 clusters of 4 people out there, so it easily holds 16 people.

This is the empty ballroom

Here it is designed for Victoria's wedding.  The terrace is out the patio doors to the left, the bathrooms are behind me.

It looks so pretty!!! I'm getting excited :). THank you so much for posting these.

I'm a little concerned about the room size. The coordinator has assured me that we can fit 8 round tables, a sweetheart table, the dance floor, and DJ in there comfortably. From your picture, it seems the room was already full with only 4 tables. Yikes!

I can see how they'd do it.  Three tables along each side and two tables in the center by the back wall.  Then the sweetheart will go somewhere around there.  I think you'll be perfectly fine, just a little less spare room... which just means your guests will have to party on the dance floor!

  • 5 months later...

I just got back from Cabo on Sunday eve, and am so glad that we chose El Dorado ballroom for our reception.  The size of the room was perfect for our 60 guests and nice to get some AC after our 25 min outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour.  If anyone is considering the ballroom for their event, I would definitely recommend it!!
