Sparklers/Fireworks in the Dominican Republic

I'm curious if anyone used sparklers at their Dominican Republic wedding?

How did you get them down there?  In your luggage or shipped them down or through your resort?

 

Also, anyone do fireworks?

I wanted to have sparklers at my wedding too.  I was going to order them online and have them directly shipped to the resort.  However, my resort (Iberostar Bavaro) does not allow any type of firework on their property. 

 

Do yourselves a favor and check with your wedding coordinators first, before attempting to get your sparklers there.

I'm not sure either, but this is a great idea!!!  Are you going with DJ Mannia?  I read a review I think that said he had some sort of sparkler/type thing?  Sorry, I'm not much help! haha!

aahq, I think I heard that about DJ Mannia also, I would have to look into that. As of right now we don't know if the resort is offering the DJ for their 2012 packages, but if not we will most likely go with DJ Mannia!

I also want sparklers and asked our coordinator, here was her response...I can't tell if she means they are forbidden? They do have fireworks in some resort packages. We are getting married at the Jellyfish, here was the response:

 

 

You´re not the first one ask me for that, I can´t found anything in Dominican Republic even similar or smaller, i think those are forgiven sale and I don´t know why.

I know that the Dreams Punta Cana has an option to add a fireworks show to your reception, but that probably isn't what you're looking for.  I believe it was pretty expensive for the amount of time they do them for, but check with your resort for sure!  Maybe they can accomodate something for you
