Welcome Cocktail Party or Welcome Dinner?? Help us decide?

Trying to figure out if we should do a Welcome Cocktail Party (private) for 2 hours or a Welcome Beach BBQ Dinner (private) for 4 hours.  We thought maybe a Welcome Cocktail Party and then people could eat wherever they wanted.  And then we thought maybe a planned Welcome BBQ Dinner on the beach would also be nice.  Most people will be arriving on Wednesday and Thursday with a few arriving on Friday and the wedding is on Saturday.  So when would you have the welcome dinner/cocktail party....which day?

Hello,

 

Our guests are arriving on Wens and we are having them meet us at the hotel bar for a drink or two. Thursday we are doing a welcome dinner with drinks. The wedding is Saturday. Monday we are doing a group boat trip (guests are paying if they want to come)
