oh yea - there's seriously no way. my finace can't do it, and he's been a cross country runner. if you take out some of the jumps and instead jog/march in place, you'll save yourself from some of the more demanding exertion and make it more do-able (like during the push-up drills, sometimes I just focus on the push up part or step into and out of plank position, rather than jumping). if the people on the video can't finish the routines, I don't think us brides need to be freaked out about not doing everything. : )

I was most sore after cardio recovery day, but that was also week one, so it could've been a fluke. I think it would be cool to do something like yoga or swimmingm on that day - something that's not degenerative and that would complement the cardio recovery exercise.

I thought I'd try skipping the rest day because we're going to cali this weekend, and I knew I'd be away from it for a few days, but I couldn't get through pure cardio. again, could've been a fluke, but it could also be an indication that everything is planned just so.

I get a little sweaty and my legs burn but I don't think I burn many calories. Does my body really need that much of a break?

Yeah the pure cardio is intense!! I prefer the videos with breaks the best because I can give it my all up until a break and then like, collapse lol. However, I like it how he has the exercises planned so it's not totally intense exercises in a row. I am so excited for my fit test this weekend! I cant wait to see if I have improved as much as I think I have (obviously I have with the pushup jacks!)

I'm so glad to see that everyne else is doing well!!

I think the program is set up in a way so you don't hurt your body.  The recovery allows your muscles to cool a bit from all the jumps.  I actually find it very soothing on my legs (although they still burn with the streches) and it allows you to push harder the next day.  I am planning to add the abs to recovery day in the 2nd month, but I don't think I know what I'm in for yet LOL so that decision will be made then :)  But if you think you need to go for a run, why don't you.  Like my coach says... listen to your body.  I take my dog on a LONG walks on recovery days (wooded area with a lot of hills :).  I'm taking my measurments on Sunday... I know inches dropped within the month - went to order my dress last friday, and the lady asked me what I was doing to loose weight cause she was able to do up the sample now (unlike two weeks earlier).... So Insanity is working :)

I agree with how the program is setup for a reason. Just starting my Max weeks I had the recovery day yesterday & my body definitely needed it. I was still so tired from all the push ups & plank moves(which are also in the max recovery) I could feel it in my arms. I took measurements last night for the 1st time since I started and I lost an inch in my abs & calves. Oddly enough everything else stayed the same. Today is my max int circuit & I cant wait. I feel everyday you get stronger & your endurance is greater. Cant wait to measure myself in 3 weeks!

bmadzia1 That is awesome you lost that much in just 2 weeks! Imagine what 8 weeks will bring! msnwink.gif

Keep pushing yourself ladies!!

Hi Ladies!!

Thanks to june11bride I found this great thread.  Just got Insanity in the mail the other day and I was gonna wait until Monday to start but you all have me so excited to start that I am doing the fit test today and will go from there.

I am already pretty fit, I workout all the time, I have competed in the past and I have done P90X as well.  But I am so over weights and the the whole gym scene right now so I know this is exactly what I need.  I love doing intervals and plyo so Insanity is the perfect thing.  I hope I can still include hot yoga, hiking and cycling on some days throughout the program but I am looking forward to sticking with the routine and pushing myself.  I am so excited to hear about everyone's progress.  Can't wait to post my daily experiences.

I am so pumped up right now I just want to leave work and go workout HAHAHA!!!

Lol!! I am in the same boat as you. Quit the gym, did P90x & just wanted a change and to mix it up. My favorite P90x workout was Plyo too...you will love Insanity!!

It definitely pushes you.  Its funny it has some of the same moves as P90x but they are harder ex: the heisman!  After doing these ones I thought Tony was a wuss! lol!

FYI - when everyone is done with Insanity, Insanity Asylum just came out. It looks even crazier!!

I'm glad you made it!! I actually didn't start on the day of the week you are supposed to either...I actually planned it so my rest day was on Friday (today- yay!) instead of Sunday. I love to workout on my days off so I'd rather pick a day I'm going to want to have a day off anyway, like the end of a long week!! So I spent the time to make a new calendar with the same workouts just starting on a different day so I can follow it easier.

I'm excited for my second fit test coming up tomorrow! I know I have improved. I can post results here if anyone would like to see them. I never did any other workout video as a program before so I may not be as good to start off with, but I know I've improved!

Hi Ladies, So I promised an update on the progress. I just completed my Month 1 yesterday (with a few days off during the last week - wasn't feeling too well, but with a 3 day delay - finished it - didn't skip any workouts, just took days off in between).

So here are the results thus far:

March 2011:

Chest: 39 R. Arm: 12 (? - can't figure this one out - it got bigger, but looks slimmer:) L Arm: 11.75 Waist: 33 Hips: 40 R Thigh: 22.5 L. Thigh: 23.5 Weight: 177   April 2011
Chest: 36
R. Arm: 10.5 L. Arm: 10.5 Waist: 31 Hips: 37.5 R. Thigh: 21.5 L. Thigh: 21 Weight: 168   Total inches lost: 13.75 Total weight lost: 9 lbs   Not bad at all for 4.5 weeks :) Can't wait to see the changes after I'm done this crazy program :)    The first 2 weeks I stuck to the nutrition guide like it was the Bible.  But the last 2 weeks, I didn't.  I still followed the general rules of eating but couldn't get the actual meals listed in due to time constraints etc...   Share your results if you have them down........
