Hi Kelly!

I am trying to follow the eating plan right now.  But...I can't really be much help as I have only done 1 week of Insanity.  The reason I am following it, is because I have a hard time eating 5 times a day, so it really helps me choose snacks other than just carrots and celery.  Obviously you need to have that protein to have the strength to get through the work outs as you know~! The food is definitely not terrible and a great guideline.  So for me, it's been helpful picking those other meals that are healthy and low fat.  :)

However, your first round results sound amazing!  Good job!!!

just wanted to check in, as it's been awhile since I posted here. I'm gearing up to start Insanity again (this will be my second time through the DVDs). our wedding is in May, so I was thinking I'd start in early to mid-February. based on the earlier comment about it being 80 - 85% what you eat, I'm thinking of following the meal plan CLOSELY this time. the first time through, I lost ~5 lbs and dropped a size, so that put me around 117 lbs at 5' 4". for me, it's not so much about numbers as it is wanting to feel great (and have my arms look buff, that'd be awesome ; ).

has anyone tried it with the meal plan? thoughts?

So, I am pretty excited that only after a week, my workout yesterday was a little easier and I wasn't taking as many mini breaks!  So far I am impressed with the stamina I have gained in just a week!  Interested to see what my next fit test will be like...

I also have a question.  I have done tons of research and read tons of reviews on Insanity and sooo many state how they have lost pounds, etc...in the first week!  I have actually gained weight, despite the healthy eating, tons-o -water, no alcohol and working out.  I think 1 week seems ridiculous to see results and lose 8 lbs, for those that have done it, what were/are your experiences with it, e.g., when did you start to see results, lose weight, gain stamina, etc, etc....  :)

Thanks!!!  Hope everyone is doing well!

In all honesty my weight BARELY changed while doing insanity.  I had to document it via photos and with a tape measure.  I think if you are out of shape and go from being completely inactive to doing insanity....those are the folks that see results that quick.  When you are putting on muscle and you are already somewhat in shape, I believe your bodyfat % changes and you lose inches and might not reflect on the scale.

So dont be discouraged! Keep up the good/GREAT work!

Thanks!!!

I keep trying to tell myself not be get upset over the scale, (especially only after a week) it's inches lost that really matter.  I have always had a tendency to gain weight when I start working out (hard).  I just couldn't believe some of the reviews I was reading, so I was curious what others on here have experienced.

New to this thread.. and site truly.

I started Insanity a few months ago and then stopped after 3 days.. I put it on hold and said I would go strong after the holidays and here I am on week 2 :)

I haven't lost any weight but man I feel better.  Im probably in the worst shape of my life (5'3" 148lbs of MUSH), I used to work out 5 days min a week at the gym (and was a solid 123lbs of muscle) and just stopped suddenley this summer after a few family set backs.  I felt like crap.. inside and out so I was trying to find something that would get me back to where I was.  For me its more about fitting into my dress, which I ordered too small in an attempt to get me motivated again.  I know crazy move but so far its working to keep me on track.

I am not following the meal plan but am trying to 'eat clean' something that always worked really well for me in the past.  If it grows from the ground or has eyes I can eat it.

Hope everyone (including me) stays on track with their goals :)

Hey Jamie, seriously do not pay attention to the scales! I did insanity in the fall and my final weight was exactly the same as my starting weight!!! I was so upset at first, but then I realized that I packed on so much muscle, and my abs where showing again yay! In all honesty it was almost too much muscle, as I couldn't even wear some of my skinny jeans because they were too tight on my calves. I am now just doing mostly cardio as I want to lean out again. I guarantee that if you stick with it you will notice a decrease in body fat, look more toned and feel amazing!

Goodluck :)

Thank you!  I knew I shouldn't have weighed myself, but I just wanted to see if my weight would fluctuate throughout insanity!  Both my FI and I have gained weight!  So, I am done with the scale for awhile! :)  There is no way that Insanity won't tone me up, so I just have to pay attention to that!! again Thanks for the advice!!!!  onto my 10th workout tonight!  :)

Hey ladies!  So I've decided I'm starting Insanity tomorrow morning!  I'm excited, but scared at the same time ;-)  I'm also seriously thinking about following the eating plan and wanted to know if there are any vegetarian ladies that have modified the food plan?  I'm lacto-ovo, meaning dairy and eggs are okay, but meat, chicken and fish/seafood are out.  I've glanced through the meal suggestions and many of them are focused around meat.  Being a veggie I have my protein tricks up my sleeve, but I'm also looking for some other ideas (that preferably don't include soy).  Thanks for the help and wish me luck tomorrow ;-)
