Resort Wedding with More Affordable Hotels Nearby

Hi,


We are planning a DW for June 2012.  We are trying to find a resort area that also has some more affordable hotels around it.  Some of our guests would find the trip feasible if we had other options than just an expensive resort.  We do not have a specific island in mind--I have been to Maui, Oahu and Kauai and love them all but really also want to make it to the Big Island.  My one problem with the Kona area of the Big Island (which I thought was perfect) is that the resorts aren't beachfront--which I would like for us staying at the resort (am I missing any??)  My dream location might be too specific but I figured I would ask you experts!  :)

You might want to look into some beach houses as an option.  They are usually allot cheaper to rent by the week then a hotel.  Also it allows families to split cost and gives you a full kitchen.  I am a wedding photographer on Oahu so let me know if you have any other questions I could help you with.
