drfoune, yes my WC told me that it is discounted by $15 if you book 10 rooms. I'm curious as to how the wedding planning works as well, cant help you with that one.

MyMy, I will go to pick up the flowers, so the vendor will not be on site. However the owner says she has delivered to Beaches before, I dont want to chance that.

My next task is figuring out what to do as centerpieces because I refuse to pay $100 per table for a vase of orchids.

Dymond thanks for the info bout the florist. the beaches florist is so expensive I called your florist their prices are so much cheaper and they have nice arrangements. they told me they deliver to beaches so I think I'm going to co that. I emailed my WC about it , just waiting to hear what she has to say about it.

So I just spoke to my WC renee about using outside florist....she told me that outside vendors are prohibitted...she said I couldnt even pick them up and bring them to the resort.

 

Dymond did somebody tell you you could use outside florist???  Do you have some additional info on how you can use them???

I actually emailed Renee the other day with a bunch of questions but she hasn't gotten back to me yet.  I was just thinking of using long stemmed cala lilies for my bridesmaids either from a third party vendor or find really good looking fake ones.  I didn't see any one - long stemmed flowers in the selection Renee had sent me. 

 

I'm actually shocked that Beaches said you can't use third party vendors.  It's quite disappointing.

By the way... Do you guys have a big wedding party?  I'm still deciding if we need a dance area, there will be about 20 of us all together.  Any suggestions?

So im reading all of these posts about the flower arrangements. Just throwing it out there... I emailed Renee about a bouquet in the floral catalog that I was interested in for my bridesmaids. I believe it was 3 long stem hydrangeas, and maybe orchids. I forget. Anyways... she quoted me $295 a piece! Im sorry, but thats totally ridiculous. So, instead of planning to purchase any flowers from them, I got silk bouquets made. They are BEAUTIFUL!! I paid $460 and got my bouquet, 3 bridesmaids bouquets, 1 grooms boutinerre(sp?), 3 groomsmens boutinerre, 2 fathers boutinierres, and 2 mothers corsages, along with a toss bouquet. I got them from a seller on Etsy.com. The seller was ModageFloral. If your interested in pictures, message me and ill email them to you. My wedding is on the 27th of this month(yay!) and i plan on just packing them all in our suitcases. Theyre wrapped in plastic and didnt have a problem with them getting squished during shipment. I think thats its BS that you cant go thru an outside vendor for flowers. Im not even using the bouquet thats included thru beaches. I highly doubt theyll give me a problem about using my own silk bouquets. Once your there, theyre not going to argue with you about it. Its your wedding day for crying out loud! It would be pretty ballsy of them to hassel you.

Hello!!! I am getting married there also in August on the 13th at 3pm. I don't no about you but I am a nervous wreck. How is your planning coming along? Who is your coordinator in Miami? Mine is Renee and I haven't been in contact with her much lately. I am paying for the 3 hr reception for abot 45 guests as well as the dj and a photo/video package but I probably won't be able to pay until like weeks before the trip which I know may be a problem. I am also concened about the heat and the sand fleas!! How is planning going on your part?

Mymy I emailed her and didn't hear back so I called Friday. She said she WAS OUT OF TOWN. @KRISTINA SHE ACTUALLY SAID WE COULD BRING SILK FLOWERS. I'D LIKE TO SEE WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE. CAN YOU SEND ME PICS PLZ?

I would like to see the silk flowers as well Krystina, I'll PM you. Since I am not prohibited from bringing my own items for the wedding, I thought I may just get away with going to pick up my flowers, I  would put them in bags if I had to. I mean what are they going to do, take them from me as I walk down the aisle. However I am not opposed to silk, I have heard of many brides doing this, I just need them to look real.

 

I guess Renee is everyones WC lol, she takes a while to get back to you. I'm still waiting on her to email me a price for a grooms cake, I think it has been a month.

 

MyMy, my wedding party has dwindled from 8 to 5 girls. We are budgeting for 40 people to show up, but booking has been really slow.
