How long does it take to get marriage certificate?

Calling all previous DR brides.  Our wedding was Feb 26, 2011 and I have scoured the Internet trying to figure out how long it takes to get the marriage certificate in the mail.  I have read anywhere from 6 weeks to 12 months!  I'm really hoping for the 6 weeks to be correct. 

 

Can anyone who had a legal/civil wedding in the DR post on when you were married vs when your certificate arrived in the mail?

Congratulations on your recent marriage Jason and Amanda.

 

My daughter was legally married at the Majestic Colonial Punta Cana on January 17, 2011, and she just received her marriage certificate on April 13th.  She lives in Kitchener, Ontario.

 

We also had the same concerns about that legal piece of paper as they're moving in 6 weeks.
