Maui or Oahu?

Recommended Posts

Hi there! My fiance and I recently got engaged in Waikiki and we would like to possibly have our wedding in Hawaii next March 2012! We have both been to Oahu and loved it but friends are suggesting we chose Maui!

We like the idea of Waikiki because there are many options for things to do for our guests, nightlife and a variety of accomodations to meet everyones budgets.

My question is? What is Maui like? Is it really sleepy? Is there anything to do in the evening?

Do you think a wedding will be more beautiful in Maui?

Any feedback would be so appreciated

Thanks so much!!! cheesy.gif

We're getting married in Oahu because it's cheaper (well that's one reason).  It would be kinda cool to get married where you got engaged.  If his brother hadn't already had a destination wedding in Jamaica that's where we would have gotten - we got engaged there last year.  Maui is very pretty, but where in Hawaii isn't?!

Waikiki / Oahu might be easier on accomodations for your guests because as you mentioned, there are a plethora of options. Plus, if you have guests coming to Hawaii for the first time, there would probably be more of the typical 'attractions' they can do afterwards.

Have you thought about doing the wedding in Oahu and then honeymooning in Maui?
