So excited to see all of the acitivity on this thread! Thanks for all of the web links for ideas, this is awesome.  It can literally become a full time job looking at this site and finding fun ideas.

JB, I looked on Ideeli today and that was an awesome sale.  I didn't end up with anything, but I loved the honeymoon deal for Tahatti.  The only problem is you have to go before March of 2012.  Oh well, hopefully there will be more sales. Thanks for the info on the sale though.

MoniWoni, sounds like you are having the same fun I am at booking rooms! It seems like it goes back and forth. Yes, the rooms are available, oh wait maybe not, now they are available again. Ahhhh! I just want to book already and I also want a straight line on pricing.  I feel like it goes up and down every day.  I guess we just need to relax and know that in the end it will all work out. The photographer I am using is Phil Steingard from Canada.  He has a website, www.steingardstudios.com.  I just emailed him from that site and he got back to me within a week..  His work is amazing. He is in Punta Cana a ton and if he is there already during your wedding date it is pretty reasonable for pricing.  Check out his work, he also has a facebook page and is active on the Majestic Colonial/Elegance facebook page.  I talked to him this week and he is really informative about Punta Cana and what will help with scenic photos. I am so excited about him, I am actually planning my date around him!

 

Dee-you asked about a DJ and PhotoPhil rec. DJ Mania. He said that he has a lot of the brides he does photos for use DJ Mania and that they all rave about the dancing/party.  I think there is some info on this forum about him and he may even be a featured vendor.

 

What are you guys doing for hair and makeup? I am planning on doing my own, at least until other brides start to review the resort and their spa services. Maybe there are outside vendors?

I am so happy to see all of the activity on this thread. It is so nice to have all of this information to help. All of the links to the DIY shops are awesome! It can quickly become a full time job to look at this forum and come up with cute ideas.  I looked on Ideeli and they had some awesome stuff! I didn't end up with anything but was really interested in the Tahatti honeymoon package.  The only problem is that you have to travel by March 30 2012! I missed it by a month. Oh well. Hopefully they will have other sales.

Moni Woni, sounds like you are having the same trouble I am with booking. I just want a straight answer about pricing and what dates I can book, ha ha.  The photographer I am using is Phil Steingard from Canada. You can always do a trial at the spa, if would help you feel comfortable using them for hair and make-up? I'm looking to book DJ Mania, as soon as I can figure out if the resort would allow it... Anyway, did  you decide on a date yet?

AcutieRN, Thanks for all the advice. Does anyone know who the resort dj is going to be though??I am probably just go with the divine package which includes the dj so that is why I was asking?

 

As far as the hair and makeup go I was going to do a trail run also. Hoping they do a great job so I won't have to find an outside vendor but would like to know one as a back up with anything happens, you know?

 

Are you ladies having problems with them responding to your emails?? I have gotten a response within a couple of hours whenever I email her, hopefully she will get back to you ladies soon!

 

Our date is open and I am hoping to book this weekend or even on Monday!! YAY!! I can't wait to have this part over with!

When is your big day? I'm not sure if you noticed that they change the 2 hour DJ services to a soloist at the ceremony for 2012? Just in case your date is next year. Exciting your ready to book! I'm still working out my group rates, I feel like it keeps going higher everytime I get a response back! I almost want to get married this year but today we hit our year mark, so this time next year I'm getting hitched! AAAHhhhh!

 

I agree with you, I just want to get this part over with so I can move on to the fun stuff!

Hey girls!

I agree with the trial idea for hair and makeup.  I saw a thread here where someone posted the name of a guy in DR that will do hair and makeup and has good reviews. I just saw it yesterday, will have to look at it again.  They said that he will only come if he is doing a minimum of 5 people hair/makeup though.  I am not having attendants so won't work for me but maybe a good backup for you guys.  Are you having BM's?

 

I have not booked my date, I am also playing the up and down price game.  I do know that I want April 16 or 17 2012 and they are both open at 3 pm(time I want).  I am just holding out for the best deal. I have been able to secure $126/157 per night per person, but not including every 6th room free. If I can get every sixth room free I will book immediately.  Are you guys nervous about sending them the copy of the credit card and copy of your passport? I am scared to email it and scared to fax it. It has identity theft written all over it! I know if you are using a TA that may help, but I am still not sure if I am.  How are you guys doing with pricing?

            Ok so im new to this site and dont know if im doin this rite!!!! So im think of gettin married at the NH Real Arena, I have the hotel holding the date for me may 23,2012 and i am just waiting for the judge to say ok to the day!!!!!!I was just hopping that sum1 can send info that they have recived about the resort, because i realy havent gotten anything from the resort. I was wantting to see a price list for all the upgrades and stuff that is avlible for the wedding day at the resort. also does any1 have pics of weddings that have happed or pics that they have found on the internet. if any1 has this info plz send it to [email protected]
