Hi ladies!

Vav and Sarah, congrats! I have been waiting for your reviews for what seems like ages!  You both gave such great advice and it was really helpful. Vav you looked gorgeous and it looked like all of your planning paid off. Sarah, can't wait to see some pics when you get back. Your calming words were good to hear as I am now 6 weeks away and still don't have a wedding coordinator, ha ha!  The one kink I have run into is with pastor York.  After Claribel left, my reserved date and time was not recorded.  I did have my confirmation from her, so they were able to get close to my orginal time.  Vav, after reading what you said about Pastor York being so tight between weddings, I realized that "close" to my orginal time may  not be good enough.  I was right! He is booked at another resort the same time they have my new start time. Oh well.  They will just have to change it back, I have my happy little confirmation letter in hand to make a fuss if needed.  Although it sounds like they are pretty laid back once you get there, so hopefully it will be no problem at all.

 

You both anwered a lot of my questions, but do you know about the flower petal rules?  If I bring my own do they have to be real or can they be silk?  I really want a pretty dense rose petal walkway, but if they need to be freeze dried I need to be ordering them now and have not heard a response from the resort.

So ladies, i just got off the phone fwith Christina, btw her english is excellent. I had to find out from her if i would arive saturday and have wedding monday would give us enough time, even though i know its cutting it too close. But i was really hoping to catch a direct flight on sat. She told me Friday is the latest when i can arrive so she can meet with me saturday morning.

I also asked about the Castaways, since i was booking my wedding date when Claribel was around and when they were still offering this restaurant for the wedding. She kept pushing "Eclipse"for the reception...isnt it a night club?does anyone has pictures of any weddings beeing held there?i cant find any. I asked her to do her best and try to make it work for Castaways, but in the meanwhile i would like to see the pictures of eclipse...

I would agree Cristina's English is very good.  I actually met with her in December when I was down in Punta Cana and saw the whole resort.  The Eclipse is the night club but it looks really cool.  I am getting married at the Fountain and was told the Eclipse would be the rain back up.  To be honest the Eclipse Lounge kind of has a feel of like a LA roof top lounge.  It is above the resort so it is really private and there is a mini decorative pool around the lounge.  If anyone else has any questions about the resort please feel free to ask me. 

 

Skygirl it looks like we are planning a wedding around the same time.  I'm getting married Sat Oct. 6th

 

Does anyone know what the photography packages include and have the contact info for the photographer?  I notices on the wedding excel template there are about 5 different packages (silver, gold, royal, etc) which are an additional fee but I'm not sure what they all include.  Any assistance would be greatly helpful.

Yes, the different packages listed on the site come with different prices. the most expenive one comes with 24 photos, of course you can buy more for $$per pictures. You can for sure use them for the whole shabang, But myself and some other brides hiring an outside photographer. As far as the eclipse, is most of the place inside?i wonder how they do the set up for chairs?it does looks like more of the rooftop place...im not sure about it ...but i guess on the goood note, we wont have to move after the reception and just stay for the nightclub at 10.30

i was counting on for the fountain for the ceremony too. whats ur colors?

Weird question everyone, but how does the cell phone situation there?when i was there last time, there were no iphones etc..and used calling card to call my family in USA, i wonder if anything has changed...
