Pre-Travel Mailers

Brochures

I went to Rebecca for my brochures as well.  I sent these out a month before the wedding along with 2 luggage tags per person.  Everybody absolutely LOVED these!!!

 

 

 

 

 

Luggage Tags

I made the luggage tags with the business cards from www.zazzle.com , on a shimmer cardstock, and the backing is coral and aqua shimmer cardstock.  I purchased the ID holders and luggage tag loops on www.amazon.com, these cost about $1.25 each to make.

Photography

As soon as the resort and wedding was officially booked the very next thing we did was book the photography; I knew I wanted tropical imaging to do our photographs.  I am so excited to have Ileana with Tropical Imaging do our wedding day photos and our trash the dress the next day. http://www.brilliant.tc/

 

 

Décor

Beaches offers different themes by Martha Stewart, and we ended up choosing the seaside serenade theme, which is aqua and coral colors, with lots and lots of seashells thrown in.  The arch is a bamboo arch with capiz shell strands, with seashells down the aisle, and the tables are aqua linens with glass bowls filled with sand and different shells.  All of the menu cards and table numbers and name cards were also included in the theme.  I did change the ceremony chairs to the white chiavari chairs instead of the benches.

 

Reception Details

We decided to go with the 2 hour private reception, we won’t actually pick the location until we arrive on the resort, but I’m looking for something as close as possible to the beach, since you can’t have it on the actual beach.   

 

 

We also will have a calypso band play during the reception for an hour.

Flowers

Also provided by Beaches in the Martha Stewart Wedding Theme.  They are white cymbidium orchids with seashells, and it’s tied together with an aqua ribbon.  I’m also putting an aqua starfish jewel in the bouquet as well.

 

 

 

 

Cake and Cake Topper

Guest Book

 Rebecca also made a custom guestbook for us; I won’t have it until next week so here is what it will be…

It will be a turquoise 8 x 8 book with a coral ribbon tied onto the side, this image will be on the front of the guestbook

And the inside pages will be these; the front of the sheet will look like this

And the back of the page will be a "mad-lib" style fill in

 

 

 

 

 

My Dress

I waited entirely too long to go dress shopping, I would definitely recommend going at least 8 months before the big day to give yourself plenty of time to find the dress, especially if you’re a really indecisive person like myself.  I waited until 6 months before my wedding to start trying on dresses, well after trying on countless dresses and only 5 months until my wedding I finally decided on the Vanessa by Maggie Sottero.  We had to have the dress rush ordered.

On me the very first time I tried on the dress:

 

 

 

Trash the dress

So my original plan was to absolutely no doubt in my mind to “trash†my real wedding dress but mom (who paid for the dress) was not having it J so it was time to search for another much cheaper dress, I searched and searched and I found dresses I like but I really didn’t want to spend $200 and $300 I wanted it to be no more than $100, so I ran across a wonderful thread on here about knock off dresses, this was my answer!!! So I decided to order a knock off of another Maggie dress that I loved, and that’s the RD1044 from her destination line.  Ordered through a seller on www.dhgate.com, the sellers name was earlybird.
