Does anyone know what happens when it rains at the time of your ceremony

Well,

From my experience as a photographer many resorts do prepare a back up location if they expect some rain on the day.  Many resorts that specialize  in weddings have beautiful lobbies and sections of the hotel where they conduct 'rain' ceremonies.

Sometimes it only rains for an hour or so and twice the brides I photographed were able to push their ceremonies about an hour late in order for the rain to pass. Though after the rain the sand is wet and bottom of the clothing/shoes will all can be covered in sand..

However, I did a wedding in Dominican once and because that resort had 6 weddings scheduled for that day, each bride had only 1.5 hours to get their ceremony done.    Just avoid "wedding-factory-type-resorts"

Cheers

I actually just asked my resort this question but i think it depends on the resort where you will be married as each has their own methods. My resort determines rain options the day of the wedding up to 4 hours before ceremony time. So for example i will be getting married at 4 and if by noon it is still raining they will move my ceremony to plan b and set it up there. i can also tell them what my preference is should it rain. i recommend you ask your WC at the resort what your options are :)

Depends completely on where you're getting married. The backup plan at our resort is to WAIT as long as possible, then if we still can't do it outdoors, they have an indoor location. BUT they will charge us $500 if that happens... good luck, hope the weather report turns out to be wrong!

It's definitely something  to think about when choosing resorts, if the outdoor location is not possible, some indoor options may or may not be as good. Your wedding coordinator should have a plan b and c just in case.  Good luck!
