I also brought a Bose system for my wedding in October and it was great. We had tested it before we left for sound and we were a bit worried it wouldn't be loud enough but it proved us wrong. We had a private reception too at the Plantation and honestly our guest was dancing throughout dinner and after, lol.

  Can I ask what model Bose you bought and was it loud? We are doing the after dinner party at the beach and do not want to pay for the DJ either! We did find a Mic (Imic) That can be used with your iphone or ipod so that should be good enough. Does anyone know if you are allowed to play low music at the semi private dinner? Thanks!

I was just thinking...I received an email back from Jan's Flowers with their pricing list and I notice they offer the decorated 4-poster Chuppahs and Arches that they can set up directly on the beach...there is an extra cost for them ($180 and up), but this could be another option for you to still have your wedding on the beach for the date/time that you want if you are unable to get the beach gazebo.  I would think that the resort would still set up the chairs for you for free, and hopefully they have more than one person for the Officiant.  I'm seriously thinking of forfeiting the beach gazebo myself and going with an Arch as the pictures look so beautiful!  Anyway...just a thought;)
