Do Save the Dates and Invitations have to match?

Hi,

 

We have the venue and date so starting to firm up guest list, start on website and Save the dates.

 

In trying to get these three things together, it seems a bit overwhelming to pick a color theme now to use for all stationary.

 

Do the save the dates and invitations have to match?

Mine didn't! I didn't even know my colors when I picked my STDs.

Not at all.  I can't think of any wedding I've been invited to where they matched.  there is usually such a time difference between the 2 that it doesn't matter.

I agree with all the girls - they do not have to match, which is nice because you can do a post card for a STD and a more traditional invite or vice versa...so many options!!!

I don't believe so. My save the dates were postcards and my wedding invitations are passports.
