Trying to find the PERFECT destination!

There seems to be sooo many places to choose from to get married! price is a big factor for me because me and the fiancee will be funding our intire wedding since my family nor his has the ability to pay for it.   through my recent searches, i came across dreams resort palm beach punta cana and i fell in love with it. and the price seemed very afordable. one of my relatives keep informing me about travel advisories and says that dominican republic is not a great place to travel to because it is so close to haiti.

 

 so my questions are to anyone who has been there and had their wedding there:

 

how was there area, and are there any concerns about an dangers or anything?

 

also i would loveee details on your experience and how much u rate it and enjoyed it.

 

its hard when chooses places since u cant just go there and check it out like venues close to home.

I have the same issue with so many places to choose from. So many mixed reviews! I am still researching all the time! I am between Punta Cana and Cabo San Lucas now . Good Luck, and I've heard good things with Dreams Palm Beach!

Seems like you should be fine as long as you are in a resort (touristy) area.  Many people are scared to travel to Jamaica because of the crime rumors, but they don't understand how safe the areas for tourists usually are.  I say read some reviews on tripadvisor.com and go with what you love.

What about Maui? We just got married there a month and half ago. Our guests loved the location. We loved the location. The weather was perfect!
