We have been working on our guest list and right now, it is around 110 people total.

 

In talking with friends who have have destination weddings and from looking online, most people say that most do not come and they have a smaller crowd than expected. Has anyone run into situation where majority of those invite to come, do actually come?

When it comes down to the nitty gritty like 30 days prior a lot of the people don't come.  But still invite them as courtesy

I agree, you may not want to send out official invites to everyone (just the people that show interest in going/ or you know or for sure coming) to cut down on costs. 

 

Send STD's to everyone and go from there, that is what I think most people do.

We sent free vista print magnets for our STDs to about 60 people.  From that we are only sending invitations to people who show interest in coming, otherwise the price will definately get out of hand.

I agree - get a feel from people by their response to the save the dates, then invite based on that info.

so I Sent invites to 75 people who were interested

i was  wondering how to handle that... we sent 100+ STDs, and have a lot of people tell us no already, so I didnt know what to do about the official invitation

We're doing the same thing as xtenna. We sent out about 75 save the dates and we're getting ppl saying that they'll go and others saying they can't. We're planning on sending invitations to those who have said they will or might go, and then we'll go from there with the RSVPs.

I am just starting to plan and was wondering, so you ask for rsvp on the save the dates? if so how did you word it?
