Our may 10th wedding is closing in fast! I haven't booked any hair and make up yet. Who did everyone use for their hair and make up? Any recommendations? And also, did you do a trail day? We are there a week before the wedding so we do have time.

Highly recommend Stephanie ford for hair and makeup! She was great and also very sweet.

I would really like to create my own bouquet. I've heard that all of their flowers are flown in but usually in grocery stores there is a floral section and I could get something simple and pretty to create. Does anyone know if the stores in Grand Cayman have a floral section or if making my own bouquet would be feasible based on what they have on the island? I just don't want to spend a ton of money on flowers for all of 15 minutes of using them.

Hello fellow Cayman brides!

My husband and I got married in Grand Cayman on 6/7/14. I wanted to send out a quick post here to tell you all what an AMAZING experience we had! Let me preface this by saying that we did all of our planning site unseen, which can be incredibly nerve racking. As long as you are working with great vendors, the process can be a lot of fun!

First and foremost, if you are looking for a wedding planner (which I highly recommend) I really encourage you to check out Juliette Heath with Five Star Events. I actually found out about her by browsing this site, so I wanted to repay the favor and tell you all about my experience with her as well. There isn't enough space here to explain how thankful I am to have picked Juliette as our planner. She went above and beyond all of our expectations. She answered every single email (and we sent A LOT) promptly and was as kind as can be. She gave so many great recommendations and even went out and took pictures of different venues we were considering because we were having such a hard time deciding - which is not even a typical part of the service she offers. I sent her a TON of inspiration pictures and let me tell you, when I saw everything in person for the first time, I was completely BLOWN away - and I am very picky about what I like! She is incredibly good at what she does. Again, I cannot say enough great things about her. It can be really stressful trying to plan something from so far away and she really helped to put my mind at ease throughout the entire process. I guarantee you will not be disappointed if you decide to go with her!

Next up, the photographer. PLEASE do yourself a favor and look at Rebecca Davidson's blog! She is INCREDIBLE! We could not be happier with having her as the photographer. She is so friendly and really puts you at ease during the whole thing! She gave us so much direction and our pictures turned out perfect! She is so funny and charming - you cannot go wrong with her. Yes, she is a little more expensive than some of the rest, but I promise you it is well worth the cost. I would not change a thing! We used Picture This (owned by Rebecca and her husband) for videography. Although we haven't received any video footage as of yet, the guy who was shooting the wedding, Jason (he's new to Picture This), was literally by our side filming every little thing. I can only imagine how amazing the video will be!

And finally, our welcome dinner, ceremony, and reception locations. Our welcome dinner was held the night before the wedding, at Tiki Beach (a recommendation from Juliette). Everyone loved the atmosphere here! You are greeted by draping white curtains and an incredible view of the beach! All of our guests were raving about how amazing the set up looked. We did a buffet for dinner and all was excellent - do yourself a favor and be sure to include the jerk chicken, yum! We had the ceremony right outside the condominium complex we were staying at for the week, Coral Stone Club. Coral Stone Club is located directly next to The Ritz and has a beautiful beach and pool! I am so happy we ended up staying here! It was more affordable than Caribbean Club, which was the place we were initially thinking of staying. They also don't charge a booking fee to have your wedding on their beach if you are staying there, which a lot of other places do! The condos are all 3 bed 3 bath and about 1800 sq ft. They are the PERFECT size and everyone that stayed there loved it. I honestly don't think there is a better deal on the island! We had all of our guests transported to The Wharf for the reception. Again, so happy we decided on this place! The food was INCREDIBLE - pistachio and basil crusted sea bass is to die for. All of the waiters were so friendly and were quick to make sure everyone had fresh drinks in their hands at all times! Not to mention, The Wharf is directly on the ocean, with a private beach! You cannot get a better view on the island. Pure perfection!

I could go on and on all day long, but hopefully I gave some good insight into planning a wedding in Grand Cayman. If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing! If any of you have questions, PLEASE feel free to contact me directly or reply back. I am happy to help in any way that I can! One of the girls I contacted on here did the same for me, and I am forever grateful for that!

Happy planning :)

Kristen

I've attached a picture that Rebecca posted on her blog. We don't have our pictures yet, so if you want to check out our wedding post to see more, please go to Rebecca's blog and look for Kristen & Andrew's wedding.

We are looking at April 2, 2016 for a wedding at The Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman. I am very happy with the property and feel good about the quality control that a RC offers you, particularly planning from afar.  I did want to ask a few vendor questions.

We plan to have about 100 people and the ceremony/reception at the Ritz, so I am all set there. The "other stuff" I need! The Ritz has a wedding planner included in my price so I am not planning to hire an additional one.  For my guest bags I'll have rum cake for sure and maybe a drink ticket, sunscreen, lip balm. I want to use local vendors for everything.

1.) anyone have a band recommendation?  How much did they charge you for 6 hours?

2.) Violinist? Same question $$

3.)Flowers--who's the best and what did they cost?

4.) Photographer looking at Wolfe/Better Angle for this

5.) Videographer? I have no clue. Anyone have suggestion and pricing?

6.) hair and makeup artist--need feedback as this is critical, need price too.
