Yup, my coordinator is saying after 18 years on the island, she had never heard of them and honestly I think it's just like you said, they all pat each other's backs there, it's a small community with a very niche wedding market. They all know each other and must strike deals.  I asked her to get a quote for the flowers I am interested in to see what she comes back with but, I am thinking of doing what you're doing and just go along with the florist my coordinator suggested and is more comfortable working with.  Incidentally, who is the florist your coordinator recommended?  That's great that they matched the price of Flower Dell. I just hate the idea of overspending on flowers! I would rather put that money into our bar and food budget.

I just went back through everything Juliette has sent me, and somehow I don't have the name of either florist she mentioned!  I guess she told me their names on phone calls and I didn't put them down anywhere.  And I guess what I said earlier wasn't totally accurate - the prices her florists quoted me were slightly more (like maybe $20-$30 total), but close enough for me.  When I get their name I'll update you.  I'm so with you - flowers are gorgeous but when you're on a budget, it seems like an easy thing to cut.  They die right away!

Hi Ladies!!! Sorry for the delay! I promised pictures. We got married in May at the Grand Old House and used Aaron Rebarcheck as our photographer. Let me know if you have any questions.

I don't know, but have you checked with your coordinator if you have one?  Also, just an idea - if you have anything left over post wedding that you don't want to take with you, let me know because I could possibly buy from you and have my coordinator pick it up.  Let us know what you find out on the sign - sorry I'm not more helpful!

We'll be getting married June 8th.  I've yet to talk to our wedding planner (Juliette from Save the Date) as she's on vacation until the end of the month, but...

Since this is wedding number two for us and we did the HUGE wedding thing long years ago, we are thinking simple and intimate with 20 people we love most there with us.

Has anyone gotten married at Smith's Cove?  It is a pretty little spot but can sometimes be littered as people can sometimes be pigs and not pick up after themselves.  I'm thinking we could go over the night before and make sure it is cleared.  I love that spot...or the area near the wreck of the ten sails but don't know how they hold up for a wedding.

I'm new to ALL of this, so am going to be following, reading and parsing this thread to bits.

Reception is at La Vita Dolce.  The owner is working up a special menu for us.

NO wedding rehearsal, but a trip on a friends boat to stingray city instead (when no cruise ships are in port...best way to do it).

Any thoughts on those two spots would be really appreciated.  I'm off to read this thread from top to bottom and take notes :)
