Bridal Party Etiquette

@@jackshayne0123....I'm appalled at Pookie20's post above! In the months since finding this site I've never encountered anyone that's rude or unsupportive let alone as obnoxious as that. Unfortunately maybe a troll if that's their first and only post on this site. If not then hopefully will quickly learn the culture on this board!

I think that's very generous!

@@megthomson I'm with ya, what I said was very toned down and not really what I was thinking in my head at all LOL. There were a few curse words too...but I tried to be respectful..I noticed that too, it's their one and only post...odd. Hopefully the last? Anyhow....

@@diadiamond I think that's very nice of you to offer for your wedding party! I'm sure your party will be appreciative. Don't let anyone make you second guess what you want to do for them, it's all about what you feel and what your budget allows. People don't attend weddings thinking "I wonder what they'll get me", gifts are not expected, it's a nice gesture and whatever you chose will be great! They are attending, and standing up for you because they love you and want to support you, and that's all :)

We will not be paying for our bridal party's travel expenses, but I LOVE the idea of paying for an excursion for them. I was trying to think of something special to do and that thought never occurred to me. Fantastic :)

Every destination wedding I’ve gone to has been about 7-10 days long, and mine will be too. It doesn’t take 7 days to get married, the wedding usually takes place at the mid-point. Then there is relaxing and excursions and fun. It is a vacation as well as a wedding, so I don’t think it’s fair for the B&G to pay for the bridal party’s full vacation, wedding-related expenses sure.

We were thinking of giving our bridal party $100.00 each towards their trip as a gift.  I'm not very picky so I'm letting the bridesmaids and groomsman pick their own attire, shoes, jewlery, ect. We have 10 people in our wedding party so paying for their entire trip is definitely not in our budget.  Am I doing enough, or should I be doing more?

Absolutely!  That's very generous!
