Newbie 2012 Bride in DIY Heaven!

Hey everyone!  My fiance and I made the final decision this weekend to do a cruise/destination wedding in March of next year.  We couldnt be any more excited.  It fits our personalities perfectly

 

I would love to hear any tips, tricks or words of wisdom any of my fellow cruise brides might have.

FI and I are getting married in St. Thomas in April 2012, while in port during our Carnival cruise, using Island Bliss Weddings as our on-island wedding coordinator.

 

When doing a cruise wedding you have a few main options:

 

1. embarkation day wedding - can include non-sailing guests, have to use the cruise line's wedding department.

 

2. mid-cruise wedding - shoreside or on ship, using the cruise line's wedding department

 

3. shoreside wedding at one of the ports, using an on-island wedding coordinator - this is what we're doing, so I'm biased. But its cheaper and you can have more planning control. As much control is possible for a destination wedding of any kind!

Sorry.. I totally should have included more details than I did.

 

We are going to cruise on Carnival Magic departing from Galveston, TX and get married while in port of Grand Cayman.  A friend of mine used/suggested Simply Weddings, so I am looking into their services now.

yeah, girl, I'm way too much of a planner to deal with TWE. not knowing ceremony/reception location until two weeks out? no thank you!
