Azul Beach Hotel - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

We set that one up while we were there and it was not a part of the unlimited events because we requested it too late. BUT you can request it. All requests must be done 60 days before your wedding.

You can book your event (cocktail, dinner, lunch, etcetera...) but the hotel will tell you where the event will be held. Not to worry. All locations are pretty awesome.

Thank you! Were all the locations they choose private? Or for a dinner for example, do they just make a table for you in one of the restaurants? Are you able to talk/make a speech or have an iPod dock at these? Sorry, the unlimited private events piece has so many of us confused! Since we won't know location... If you wanted to add decor once that's determined onsite can you do that? Or does that have to be arranged prior to closing you detail sheet?

Yes, they were all private. For the beach locations, they section it off and post a sign informing other guests it's a private event. I didn't bring decor, but for the cocktail hours, all the tables were tall cocktail tables covered with white cloth and ribbon.

For the entire stay, we brought our own speaker and hooked up our iPod to it. They also have equipment you can rent but for 38 of us, our music did fine.

If you want to use your own decor, they will charge you a set up fee. I'll post a few pics so you can see what we had. Give me a moment to get to a desktop.

So, after M-A-N-Y talks with my guests, only one couple is insistent on bringing their kids along. I always had my heart set on AZUL Beach if kids were coming, and then switched to El Dorado when I thought kids weren't coming. I was just wondering if anyone had a "kidless" wedding at Azul Beach and loved it? I'm in-between using Generation Riviera Maya/El Dorado for the wedding and Azul Beach. I just need to actually choose a location so I can move forward with planning.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Azul beach has a much more intimate boutique hotel feel where as el dorado/generations is very spread out and not as unique feeling. A great feature of Beach would be that your guests would not be as spread apart and would feel a lot more like a trip with friends and family. I don't think it's an issue at all not having kids attend and staying there!

Hi Ladies!

I'm getting married at Azul Beach on May 24th, 2015. Beach ceremony, cocktail hour after and reception at Chil Terrace. That's about all I have worked out at this point. I must say, I feel a bit behind after reading all of these posts, but happy I've found all of you brides with good taste like me! :)

Hello,

So we are getting married on May 3, 2015.  I'm very curious about how the planning has been going for people with the in house planners?  We have considered getting a third party planner based on how unresponsive the in house planners are.

Also, does anyone have any dj/band recommendations?  Music is important and we are not afraid to step outside the vendors.

We are really looking forward to this!!

Thank you!

Hi there - your wedding is still quite a ways off, and your experience thus far with the Lomas planners is typical. If you have your venues selected, you are in good shape. The rest of the details will come together as you get closer to your wedding date. The onsite WC team will help tremendously. Unless you're having an off-site wedding, there isn't a huge need for a third party wedding planner. Meanwhile, the slow response time of the Lomas team is just one of those things that goes with a DW. Have you tried the chat feature on the website? Brides have also been able to get some of their questions answered that way.

I'd also suggest reading through the Official Azul Sensatori & EDR threads for info on Lomas weddings. While you are at a different Azul resort, the Lomas planning is the same among the resorts. Only some of the allowed vendors differ between the Azul and El Dorado resorts. This may help answer your questions.

Lastly, ask the other AB brides here. This is a fantastic community, and everyone is willing to help. A DW is typically a frustrating experience while in the planning stages. It's hard to wait, when all we want to do is plan and get the decisions made. Everything will work out beautifully though.

We used a Lomas-approved DJ, DJ All Music and were very happy with them. They played the music we requested and kept everything moving along for our reception. Our guests (and us) had a fantastic time. There are other reviews of DJs among the RM pages - do a search on DJs and you'll see some of the other choices.

Thank you @@AllieH, right now we are most concerned with getting our music locked down.  Its a difficult descision, and unfortunately it seems that most of them are DJ's over live band.

@@CDC-SRW what did you think of dress rehearsal event?  We are contemplating whether its worth our while to go or not.  We have our photog booked, but nothing else really.  Let me know when you have a moment.

Thanks!

Hey Amanda, my fiance and I saw that you told a fellow follower that they could see your photos on your facebook page.  Do you still have those up?  I normally wouldn't ask, but we are getting married at Azul and wanted to see your wedding.

Thank you!
